Have Your 2023-24 Plans Changed?

If your plans for 2023-24 enrollment have changed and your student will not be attending Maeser Prep, please contact us ASAP to let us know by emailing us at registrar@maeserprep.org — please include your student’s name, their 2023-24 grade, and the school they will be attending next year. We are sending out record requests for our new students and want to help you avoid having your student’s school file sent to the wrong school. We are also creating schedules for next year and want to make sure students can get into the classes they’ve requested.

Thanks so much for your help in keeping our records up to date!

Maeser Updates Summer Posting Schedule

Maeser Updates will be on hiatus for the summer break from July 1-27. Weekly Updates posts will resume on Friday, July 28.

PowerSchool Summer Availability

The PowerSchool parent and student portal will be offline beginning Saturday, July 1 to allow us to perform summer updates and maintenance, and to create student schedules for 2023-24.

The parent and student portals will reopen on Monday, August 7 with 2023-24 schedule information. Schedule change information will be given at that time.

If your student is new to Maeser this year, you will receive an email during the week of August 1-4 with your parent login information for PowerSchool.

FeastBox Fundraiser

We have a wonderfully simple and deliciously fun way to fundraise next week for our building expansion plans.

June 29th, 30th, or July 1st stop by any FeastBox location, give them the promo code Lions23 and 20% of proceeds go to Maeser. It’s that easy! Take a night off of cooking, enjoy some delicious food, and help us raise funds for our expansion!

Summer Reading + Essay Contest

Our community summer reading book is Gulliver’s Travels. Read along with your student! Fall activites for summer reading will be held in August. Additional grade-level summer reading programs lists can be found here: Summer Reading 2023.

Inaugural Summer Reading Essay Contest

All students are invited to participate, and winners will be chosen from each grade. Submit an essay (no more than 750 words!) to Mr. Simmons (dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org) answering the question: “What truths can we learn and apply from Gulliver’s Travels?” More information can be found here: 2023 Maeser Summer Reading Essay Contest.

Used Uniform Sale

All Maeser families are invited to join us on Wednesday August 2 from 6-8 PM in the Maeser Lunchroom for the Used Uniform Sale. This sale is an opportunity to allow parents to sell their old uniforms, and for parents to purchase needed uniforms in good condition at a low cost.

We will only be selling items that parents bring to sell. Please bring your used uniforms to sell!

To SELL items: Drop off labeled items (envelope safety pinned to item, labeled with Name, Phone, Venmo QR code, Description, Price) that have been laundered along with the Parent Waiver Form (filled out) to the volunteer at Maeser (lunchroom) on Wednesday Aug 2, 8:30-9:30am or 3:30-6:00pm. All unsold items need to be picked up within 30 minutes of the close of the sale. Any money or clothing not picked up will be considered a donation to the school.

To BUY items:The used uniform sale is mostly CASH ONLY — bring lots of $1 and $5 bills. If parents who are selling items would like to write their Venmo Username (with QR code or last 4 digits of phone) on their envelopes, you can use Venmo, too. Checks and credit cards will not be accepted.

To help our school community, the Maeser Uniform Committee has created a suggested guideline for pricing:

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.

Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!
