Maeser Girls Night TODAY

On November 3rd from 12pm-2pm in Ms. Davis’ room (227) we will have another Girl’s Night Activity sponsored by a couple wonderful senior girls – Salma and Ava! It will be a “Speedfriending” activity and then a Q&A with junior and senior girls. They are in need of some food to make this activity pop! Thanks for considering. If you sign up, please drop off the items by 11am on Friday, November 3rd.

To sign up to help bring food, please visit our SignUpGenius: November MS Girls’ Night.

Middle School Student Council Thanksgiving Activity

Friday, November 10 at noon the middle school student council will be hosting a Thanksgiving activity in the lunchroom! All middle school students should come and enjoy pie and crafts! Whoever can should bring a baked pie for our pie-judging contest, and eat all kinds of pie with us. Pie not your thing? We’ll also be hanging out and making turkey hands together.

Counseling Announcements

Counseling Donations

The Middle School Counseling team is in need of large bags of individual sized candy. You can use this towards your volunteer hours!

Kind: an assortment- chocolate, hard candy like jolly ranchers, tootsie pops or rolls, whatever comes in the assorted bags is fine. We would like some non-chocolate as well.

Amount: 4-5 bags/month

Building Resilience: Control

There has been a lot of talk lately about students and resilience. In the book Building Resilience in Children and Teens, 7 C’s of Resilience are discussed. We’re taking the next 7 weeks to give you some tips to help your students with resilience.

This week we will focus on Control.

Control: Children who realize they can control the outcomes of their decisions are more likely to realize that they have the ability to bounce back. Your child’s understanding that he or she can make a difference further promotes competence and confidence.

You can help to empower your child by:

  • Helping them understand that most of life’s events are not purely random, but happen as a result of another individual’s choices & actions
  • Showing them that discipline is about teaching, not punishing or controlling

For more strategies: The 7 Cs Model of Resilience

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

Update Your Contact Information

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.

Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!
