Annual & Class Fees Due Wednesday, October 4

All annual fees and class fees (first semester & full year classes) are due on Wednesday, October 4. Balances after the due date will be charged a late fee (up to $15). Second semester class fees will be charged in February.

Some of you have already paid your student’s annual fees (Student Fee, Winterim & Graduation)–thank you! Now that schedules have settled down, we have also charged class fees. (Not all classes have associated fees, but some do.) You can see our fee schedule here: 23-24 Fee Schedule

If you would like to set up a payment plan for annual fees and class fees (except AP exams), please email finance@maeserprep.org before Wednesday, October 4. PLEASE NOTE: We do not set up payment plans for extracurricular sports and activities–these fees must be paid before your student can participate.

If you think you may qualify for a fee waiver, please email finance@maeserprep.org for an application before Wednesday, October 4.

If you have any questions, please email finance@maeserprep.org. We are happy to help!

Volunteer Opportunities

Maeser Fundraising: Help Needed!

Hello Maeser Parents! Please help us out by taking a few minutes to fill out this Google form: Fundraising Committee Superstars & Supporting Maeser Community Businesses. We’re wondering if you’d like to get involved in fundraising efforts, and if you can help us gather a list of Maeser-alum run/owned businesses, and businesses we can partner with in various capacities. Thank you!

Mock Trial Attorney Coaches

Our High School and Middle School Mock Trial Teams are looking for Attorney Coaches! If you are looking for a way to support Maeser and are an attorney here in Utah, we would welcome your involvement in our Mock Trial program. We rely on our Attorney Coaches to help teach the finer points of the law, court procedure and student roles (attorney, witness, bailiff). We meet weekly on Fridays. Our state competition begins in February, 2024. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Mr. Geary at: douglas.geary@maeserprep.org.

Protein Powder for Weights Classes

In an effort to provide our students with a more complete weight training program, we would like to offer them Whey Protein drinks after each workout. This is, of course, just an option for the students in the weights classes.

For more details and to sign up to help, please visit our Sign-Up Genius: Protein Powder for Weights Classes. Thank you very much!

Lunch Volunteers Needed!

Do you need to get your volunteer hours? We need help selling and serving lunch every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:15-12:00pm. To sign up to help please email Jared Norris at jared.norris@maeserprep.org

Report Your Volunteer Hours

DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

Sunday Meetings & Your Student’s Planner

This week’s counseling tip is from Ms. Sorenson from our Counseling Department.

I like to encourage families to have a regular Sunday planning meeting. In this meeting, students will get together with their parents and go over the coming week. Everyone will tell what important things they have coming up that week and the student should write things in their planner. Is there a dentist appointment coming up? Or perhaps the student has a project due and will need supplies. The student should let parents know at this meeting instead of at 9 pm the day before the project is due. If this is a regular habit, there are fewer surprises and less frustration on everyone’s part.

In the middle of the right hand side is a place for your student to write a weekly educational goal. They should write this and check it often throughout the week and make adjustments as needed throughout the week.

Students should have their planner available during every class period. When a teacher gives an assignment, the student should immediately write down the assignment, the due date and the date they need to begin the assignment in order to have it done on time. Students can then refer back to their planner once they are home and parents ask, “Do you have any homework?”. Writing as much information as possible in the planner helps students remember the what and when of assignments. Having a family meeting and using the planner effectively helps everyone stay calm and get things done on time.

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

Update Your Contact Information

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.

Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!
