In-Person Advisory Friday Today

TODAY (Friday, October 21) is the first Advisory Friday of the term, which means all students are required to come to campus.

We use these in-person Advisory Fridays, which happen on the first Advisory Friday of each term, as a way for students to reflect on their academic progress, set goals for the upcoming term, and formulate specific tasks to help them be successful. As with all Advisory Fridays, this week’s in-person Advisory Friday begins at 9am.

This week, students may be picked up as early as 10:00am, but we will also have mentoring opportunities and enrichment activities available until 12:00pm. This week we’ll be having our annual Talent Showcase assembly from 10:00-11:30am.

If your student has outstanding Quarter 1 NGs, they can count attendance at Advisory Friday and the assembly towards removing their NGs. They will need to pick up an NG make-up form from the front office BEFORE Advisory starts (9am) and have their Advisory teacher sign it AFTER the assembly.

If your student is ill or otherwise unable to attend in-person Advisory Friday today, please call the front office (801-235-9000) to excuse their absence the same way you would for any other school day.

Middle School Activity

The Middle School is having an activity today! It will be from the end of Advisory til about 2pm. We’re doing some fun Halloween activities including mummy races, spider races, donut-on-a-string race, jack-o-lantern art, and capture the flag!

Math Girls Rock!

The first meeting of Math Girls Rock! will be held on Thursday, October 27th right after school. The Math Girls Rock! is sponsored by UVU and is open to all Maeser girls in grades 7 – 12. We will explore a fun math topic (usually origami) and have treats and prizes. Please contact Mrs. Plott (rochelle.plott@maeserprep.org) for more information and to get a permission slip. Our next meeting will be on December 8th.

ACT Prep Class: Session 1

Our ACT Prep Session 1 begins November 3rd at 3:45 pm at Maeser. The session includes November 3, 10, and 17th from 3:45-7:45 pm. Cost is $125. Sophomores are FREE thanks to our Trustlands grant. There are 10 spots left in the November session. Sign ups are available now: 22-23 ACT Prep Course.

Have Your Student’s Plans Changed?

Please remember that if you decide to withdraw your student from Maeser, you must contact the front office or email our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org as soon as possible. Please include the name of your student, the last day they will be attending Maeser, and the next school they will be attending. We will help you complete the withdrawal process so your student can enroll in their next school.
