Truth | Honor | Virtue

Each week in this new feature, we’ll be celebrating some of the great things our school community is doing!

MS Boys Volleyball Takes State

The next time you see one of the MS boys volleyball players please congratulate them on an OUTSTANDING season. Our season ended with a state championship as we beat Freedom in the state finals.

The A-team had an undefeated season not losing one set during the entire season.

The B-team also had an undefeated season. They are an amazing group of young men, who in addition to their prowess on the court make a great back-up boy band.

HS Boys Soccer Finishes Historic Season

Our high school boys finished their season on Saturday. We finished with a 14-2 record, region championship, and set 5 team records this year. Congratulations on an incredible season!

HS Track Makes Maeser History

Both our girls and boys track teams won their region titles this week — the first track region titles in school history! Also, some other Maeser history was made this week as our school hosted the discus competition, which is the first ever official track event hosted at our school. We had more than 50 student-athletes participate in track this year!

Prom

Prom is May 14th from 7:30pm-10:30pm at the Vista at Cedar Hills. This year’s theme is A Night At The Oscars. Tickets are being sold in Ms. Moser’s room TODAY during Advisory Friday. Advance ticket prices are $40/couple and $25 stag; prices go up by $10 at the door, so get your tickets today!

Library Books Are Due This Week

All Maeser Library books are due by Wednesday, May 18! Fees for lost books will be assessed after that date so please help your student locate any outstanding library books and get them returned on time.

Year-End Textbook Returns

Your student’s teachers will soon be instructing them when & how to return their textbooks (it will be before or at their class final). If a textbook is not returned to the teacher by the end of their final, the student’s account will be charged a replacement fee and you will be notified by email. If you have opted in for texts, you will also receive a text. (If you have not yet opted in for texts and would like to, please text “YES” to 67587.) Please watch for these emails/texts because it will be a quick turnaround time to return textbooks or pay the fee!

Students may return a textbook for which they have been charged to have the fee removed:

  • During finals (May 20-25), they need to return textbooks to their teachers.
  • On the last day of school (May 26), they need to return textbooks to the front office.

If students have lost a textbook, please pay the replacement fee by the last day of school.

After the last day of school, we will order replacements and the fees will remain on your student’s account and rolled over to next school year. Any textbooks returned after Thursday, May 26 will be considered donations to the school and the fee(s) will remain on your student’s account and rolled over to next school year.

If you have questions, please contact the finance office at finance@maeserprep.org.

Final Exam Schedule

Final Exams start next week! Please help your students finish the school year strong as they prepare for Finals in their core classes. REMEMBER: Friday, May 20 is a required Final Exam day. Please plan ahead so your student does not miss their Finals in 1st and 3rd periods.

Sports Announcements

Girls Basketball Open Gyms

There will be open gyms for girls high school basketball on Tuesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 26 from 1:00-3:00pm. All interested 8th-11th grade girls are invited!

HS Girls Soccer Information Meeting

There will be an information meeting on Tuesday (May 17) at lunch in the cafeteria classroom for all girls interested in playing high school soccer this coming fall. We’ll be talking about summer workouts, tryouts, and eligibility. If your student has any questions or can’t attend the meeting, please have them email Coach Simmons (dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org).

Fall 2022 Sports Academic Eligibility

Eligibility for participation in fall activities/sports will be determined by 4th term grades. Students currently in grades 7-11 must earn a 2.7 GPA with no Fs. In addition, high school students cannot have any Fs/NGs/Incompletes from previous high school terms. If the F/NG/Incomplete is made up by the beginning of the sports season they will be able to participate as long as they have a 2.7 GPA.

Sports Physicals

All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports next year (2022-23) need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after April 15, 2022 will be good until July 15, 2023. Any physicals completed before April 15 of this year will not be accepted (per UHSAA policy) for the upcoming school year.
