Halloween Activities TODAY (Friday, October 29)

Halloween Costumes

Friday, October 29th (Advisory Friday) is the only day students will be allowed to come to school in costume. Students may wear a costume while they are at the school working with teachers if they would like. Please refrain from bringing weapons, wearing inappropriate or gory costumes, and wearing costume masks that cover the student’s whole face.

Trunk Or Treat

This year’s Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Friday, October 29th, from 1:00-2:00pm in the church parking lot right beside Maeser campus (near the light poles). Come decorate your car at noon! Click here to let us know you plan to decorate your car. (Please do not fill the form out if you do not have a car.)

HS Halloween Stomp

The Halloween Stomp is also happening on October 29th from 8pm-11pm in the gym. Stomps are for high school students only. Admission is $5 per person at the door.

Advisory Friday Procedures

Please remember that Fridays are considered a school day. In order for our state reporting to align with what’s happening at school, it’s important that all students check-in with their Advisory teacher each Friday.

All students, whether they come to campus or not, need to check-in with their Advisory teacher by 1:00pm each Friday. We understand that sometimes students get busy during the day and forget to do the attendance assignment for their Advisory class, but this is how we track attendance for our state reports. The attendance question should only take a minute (or two at the most!). Students who are on campus can go to any classroom and use a chromebook for that purpose.

Moving forward, students who complete 60% of the attendance questions on Advisory days (meaning they are in attendance 60% of the time on Fridays) will receive an “H” (Highly satisfactory). Students who do not will receive an NG (No Grade). Students with an NG must come to campus on an Advisory Friday, collect an NG slip from the front office, and get it signed by a teacher after they have spent time studying or getting help in their classroom.

**Save The Date** Turkey Trot Fundraiser on November 6th

On the morning of Saturday, November 6th, members of The National Honor Society will be hosting a service event to support the Utah Food Bank. You and your family members will have the opportunity to participate in Maeser’s first ever Turkey Trot 3-mile relay race. Teams of three will run/walk a 1 mile course; each teammate will complete a one-mile loop. The winning team will not only win eternal bragging rights, but will receive a Turkey Trophy to proudly display in their homes!

The entry fee for each team is $15 and all proceeds will be donated to the Utah Food Bank. We will have music and snacks during and after the event. Please watch for more details in the coming weeks on how to sign-up prior to the event…and the day of, for all those last minute deciders. We look forward to seeing you on November 6th. Let’s make this a successful event and hopefully an annual Maeser tradition! Please support this wonderful cause and Maeser’s members of the National Honor Society, who are working hard to make this a reality.
