Student Orientation Week

We have updated our school calendar to reflect our new schedule for this school year. You can access this year’s updated calendar here: 2020-21 School Calendar.

  • Our first day of school for Group A (last names A-J) will be August 17th.
  • The first day for Group B (last names K-Z) will be August 18th.

We will be conducting Student Orientation in class the first day for each group. We are also preparing to send a virtual orientation to parents about our classes, so that you understand the expectations of in class and online days.

Friday Advisory Days

You will note from our calendar that Fridays are Advisory days. Fridays will be reserved for appointments with students who need additional help with students and for our (NEW!) testing center. To maximize time in class, we will be instituting a testing center on Fridays from 9-1 pm. More information will be given soon on this. This is different than our FLEX day schedules in the past so please make a note of it.

Fall Class Schedules

The PowerSchool parent and student portals are now open for you to view your students’ schedules.

Help Us Stay In Touch!

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!

Update Your Contact Information

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know so we can stay in touch with your family.

Volunteer Hours Requirement

Each Maeser family is required to fulfill a 40-hour volunteer requirement (20 hours for single parents) each school year. This is an important part of our school’s charter, so please help us meet that requirement.

There are several ways you can earn volunteer hours:

  • Watch for signups on the Maeser Facebook page and/or Maeser Updates emails
  • Help a teacher in their classroom
  • Sub for a teacher
  • Chaperone/help at school events
  • Chaperone/drive for field trips or overnight trips
  • Assist with used uniform sales
  • Attend a fine arts event (include travel time)
  • Attend a sports event (include travel time)
  • Attend Winterfest at the end of Winterim
  • Donate food for an event ($5 food = 1 hour)
  • “Buy out” hours for $7.50/hr ($300 for 40 hours or $150 for 20 hours). You can pay with the “Donate” button on our RevTrak fee payment site or by visiting/calling the front office during office hours.

Because the volunteer requirement is part of our school charter, we have to report volunteer hours to the state. Please help us by reporting your volunteer hours on our website! If you “buy out” your hours, please be sure to report those “hours” on the Parent Service Hours Form as well.

Please note: Some volunteer opportunities require that we have a background check on file for you. Please stop by or email the Finance Office at to make arrangements.

Sports Announcements

Maeser School Uniform Policy and Dress Code

We encourage ALL parents and students to review our Uniform Policy and Dress Code to learn why we wear uniforms at Maeser and to understand the dress code.

Due to the current circumstances Maeser will not be accepting Used Uniform donations at this time. We will also not be holding the bi-annual Used Uniform Exchange in August. This year, we encourage you to find family, friends, or neighbors to exchange uniforms with. You may also exchange uniforms on our Facebook uniform exchange page: Karl G Maeser Student to Student Uniform Swap.

Questions about uniforms? Please contact Ana Wiersdorf:
