Winterim Volunteer Needs
We have several Winterims in need of parent help with everything from snacks to guest speakers to chaperones! For more details and to sign up:
- Agriculture Winterim: 1-2 driver/chaperones, snacks
- Finding Ansel Winterim: food
- Geology Winterim: 2 driver/chaperones, snacks, guest speakers
- Family Science Winterim: female chaperone, food, guest speakers
- General Winterim/MSI Help
Remember: If you plan to chaperone any school activity, you must have a current background check on file! If you’re not sure if you’ve completed a background check for our school, please email our Finance Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chaperones for Geology Winterim
Geology Winterim is still in need of 2 more parents to go on our trip to National Parks in Southern Utah. Please email email@example.com if you can go. We will leave Monday, January 6 at 9 am and we will return Thursday, January 9 around 7 pm.
Middle School Intensives (MSI) will begin on Thursday, January 2nd. School begins at 9:00am and ends at 2:00pm. All middle school students will be receiving a packet containing more information about MSI and another packet containing permission slips for field trips. Students who have not received a packet can stop by Mr. Norris’s office to get one.
All 8th grade students will participate in a sewing unit during Middle School Intensives in January. You will need to bring the following items to the sewing class.
- 2/3 yard of fleece fabric (60 inches wide) for making 2 hats
- 3 buttons: one 2-hole, one 4-hole, and a shank button
- Two 8-inch squares of print cotton for a quilt square (you may bring extra fabric for more than one quilt square)
If you cannot bring an item, please talk to Mrs. Goodrich BEFORE the first day of the sewing class.
Parents: If you have a sewing machine we can use, please let Mrs. Goodrich know ASAP. Thanks!

We will be holding our annual Middle School Spelling Bee during Middle School Intensives (in the Winterim term). For details, rules, and the word list, click here: Maeser 2020 Middle School Spelling Bee.
