Your student will not be allowed to pick up their yearbook or attend the stomp on the last day of school if they have any outstanding fees. Please be aware that they will need to return their lock (for their locker), textbooks and library books or they will be assessed a replacement fee. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Finance Office ASAP at finance@maeserprep.org.

End of Term is Coming SOON!

The end of term is fast approaching. Please check PowerSchool for any Fs or NGs NOW! Students who have Fs or NGs in math can make those up in Math Lab for high school and middle school. Our May 11th Flex Day is to be used for students who have had extended absences or other emergency situations that prevented them from making up work on Friday Flex. This day is NOT the day to turn in all the work from the entire term! If you need to remediate or make up NGs, please talk to your teacher ASAP to make arrangements to get that done before Finals.

Dancing with the Teachers

Monday, May 7 @ 6:30pm
Dancing with the Teachers is this coming MONDAY, May 7th, at 6:30 pm. There will be a $3 per person donation at the door–whether you’re watching or participating, or a $10 donation per family. It’s all for charity, so come do some good by laughing hysterically.

FREE Music Department Showcase Concert

Wednesday, May 9 @ 7:00pm
If you are joining our music department next year (or just want to come support some pretty awesome kids), you will want to come hear Maeser’s best music students next week!

This free concert, featuring Chamber Orchestra and Choirs will be held in the beautiful St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, 65 E 500 N in Orem. We are grateful to the St. Francis community for allowing us this incredible opportunity!

Important Announcements for SENIORS

Senior Art Stool Design Contest!

We are continuing a Maeser tradition—one senior may paint the top of an art stool each year to represent their graduating class. Mrs. Fosse will then add a varnish on top of the design to protect it from everyday wear, so it will remain a permanent fixture in the art room.

Design requirements:

  1. Create a colored, 2-D design within a paper circle, that has a 6” to 11.5” diameter
  2. Include the year of your graduating class (2018) in the design
  3. Symbolism to represent your specific year is also encouraged (ex. Last year’s design references the ten year anniversary of Maeser and “Sophie Strong”)
  4. Submit your contest entry to Mrs. Fosse by Thursday, May 10th to have design considered

Senior Lagoon Day

Planning to attend Senior Lagoon Day on May 16th? You must have no NGs or Fs *and* be on track for graduation. The bus will leave after 1st period. All seniors attending MUST travel to and from Lagoon on the bus — students are NOT allowed to drive themselves.

Maeser Prep Class of 2018 Grad Party!

The Bussios have kindly offered to host a mega celebration for our graduating seniors the night of May 25th. There will be food, swimming, movies, volleyball, games, DJ and dancing and much more!

When: Friday, May 25th, 2018
Where: The Bussio Home 720 East 3230 North in Provo
Parking: Please park at the church located at 555 East 3230 North
Time: 8pm-1:00am (or until the neighbors call the cops)
Cost: $10 per person (to help with cost of food). Please Venmo @Angela-Bussio.

Waiver: A waiver will be forthcoming along with an official invitation for each senior. Please make sure your senior brings the signed waiver to the party.

Raffle/Prizes: We would like to have some prizes available for a raffle at the party. Some ideas for prizes are: ipad, laptop, computer, headphones, bike, etc. Anything that would be beneficial to a college student. If you would like to donate any prizes or cash or have connections to a business that would be willing to donate, please contact Rachelle Chase 801-455-4208.

Volunteers: We are also looking for 4-6 additional parents to help out during the party. Please contact Michelle Rosenvall (801-735-7974) if you would like to help.

We are looking forward to a fun celebration for a truly outstanding group of kids!

Sports Announcements

Sports Banquet

Maeser’s annual sports banquet for high school sports will be on Tuesday, May 15th at 6:00pm the school gym. Last names A-J bring an appetizer and K-Z bring a dessert. If you have any questions please contact your coach.

2018-19 Student Academic Eligibility for Sports

ATTENTION ALL 8th,9th,10th, and 11th GRADERS! If you are planning on participating in a high school sport during the fall, you must meet academic standards in order to be eligible. This means that you must have a 2.0 with NO Fs or NGs for the 4th term. That’s correct, this term’s grades are what will determine your eligibility for fall sports. If you have any Fs or NGs for this term (Quarter 4) you will be INELIGIBLE to play sports in the fall.
