Later School Start Time for 2017-18
Thank you for such an overwhelming response to our survey to consider a later start time for Maeser students in the Fall. We had a 75% response rate, which is the largest response rate we have ever received for any survey. We have done what the legislative resolution asked us to consider for the benefit of Utah students and have listened to your suggestions and concerns and feel we can now move forward to pilot a new schedule for the fall. You may also notice a few other things this fall including: an additional exit from our parking lot for carpool which we hope is going to cut down carpool times, building times will still open by 7 a.m. to allow for early commuters, and we have asked Maeser Seminary to consider an early morning session to allow for additional flexibility in student schedules. We will be seeking feedback at the end of each term to see how this schedule is working for your families and your students’ well-being.
Choir/Orchestra Auditions
New students who wish to audition for our top orchestra or high school choirs, contact Mrs. Vincent at janice.vincent@maeserprep.org for a summer appointment. If that’s not possible, you may send in a video audition.
Singers (please specify your range if you have an idea): Sing “Silent Night.”
Orchestra: Play a 3-octave scale and an excerpt from your solo repertoire.
All: Please include a short summary or vitae detailing your musical experience.
Middle School Cross Country Summer Practices
Middle school cross country is having optional summer practices on Wednesday mornings at 8 am. Meet at the track. Email Coach Killpack for more information at kristi.killpack@maeserprep.org.
