🎶 Mrs. Fosse will be singing and dancing as one of the Ensemble members of our musical XANADU (so will Ms. Moser, and perhaps yet more Maeser teachers).

Broadway Rocks TOMORROW

Bring the family and come see our students perform in our annual Broadway Rocks show! Admission is FREE and the performance will begin promptly at 7:00pm in the gym.

Doors to the building open at 6:30pm. No audience members will be admitted to the building prior to 6:30pm, so please plan your arrival accordingly.

Math Girls Rock!

The next meeting of Math Girls Rock! will be held on Thursday, December 8th right after school in Mrs. Plott’s room. This is a math program sponsored by UVU for any Maeser girl in grades 7 – 12 in any level of math. We will be exploring some of the math behind origami and doing a fun origami project. As always, there will be treats. You can get permission slips from Mrs. Plott (rochelle.plott@maeserprep.org).

Classroom spelling bees will be held January 2-5, with the school spelling bee on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:30am.The top three winners of the classroom spelling bees will qualify for the school spelling bee. 1st and 2nd place school winners of the school spelling bee will then compete in the regional spelling bee. 2023-24 Re-Enrollment & Enrollment

Re-Enrollment Ends Wednesday, November 30

Does your student wish to return to Maeser for the 2023-2024 school year? If so, you MUST complete re-enrollment by Wednesday, November 30.

Re-Enrollment consists of TWO STEPS:

  • Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account and click on the “Re-Enrollment 23-24” icon in the left-side menu to fill out your student’s online re-enrollment form.
  • Pay the $50 re-enrollment deposit (nonrefundable and non-transferrable; will be applied toward your student’s 2023-2024 student fees).

If you do not complete the online re-enrollment and pay the deposit by the re-enrollment deadline, your student will lose their spot for the 2023-2024 school year AND will lose their “returning student” priority status if you decide to submit a new application.

If you have any questions, please contact our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org.

Complete Enrollment Applications For NEW Students By January 31

If you would like to apply to Maeser for your student’s siblings for the 2023-2024 school year, be sure to submit an application for our enrollment lottery by Tuesday, January 31. Applications can be found on the Maeser website under Admissions. Please be sure that you are using the 2023-2024 link (available on November 1)!

Counseling Announcements

11th Grade CCRs

11th grade CCR meetings are happening now! You can sign up using this link: 11th Grade CCR Calendar.

We will discuss graduation progress, plans for second semester and the senior year, college and career ideas, and address any concerns. We welcome parents in the CCRs but if you would prefer, we can see your student without a parent present. We look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you better.

Resilience

Resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

Over the next 7 weeks we will discuss the 7 integral components of resilience according to Dr. Ginsburg, child pediatrician and human development expert: competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control.

This week we will focus on the final “C”, Control.

Control: Children who realize they can control the outcomes of their decisions are more likely to realize that they have the ability to bounce back. Your child’s understanding that he or she can make a difference further promotes competence and confidence.

You can help to empower your child by:

  • Helping them understand that most of life’s events are not purely random, but happen as a result of another individual’s choices & actions
  • Showing them that discipline is about teaching, not punishing or controlling

For more strategies: The 7 Cs Model of Resilience
