2022-23 Maeser Fee Schedule & Spend Plan Approved

The 2022-23 Maeser Fee Schedule was approved by our board at its March meeting. You can find our current (2021-22) fee schedule on our website under Parents > School Fees. If you have any questions, please contact our Finance Office at finance@maeserprep.org.

State Testing for Grades 7-10 Begins Next Week

It’s that time of year again… when we start assessing student’s growth and proficiency in core subject areas! The Utah State Board of Education has implemented summative assessments for our students in grades 7-10 (as required by Utah Statute 53E-4-303): middle school students take RISE tests for English, Writing (8th grade only), Science and Math; students in 9th and 10th grades take Utah Aspire Plus – a special pre-ACT test for 9th and 10th grade students that provides a predictive ACT score and areas for improvement to prepare for the ACT, as well as growth and proficiency scores for Utah standards. These improved assessments help prepare our students to succeed on the ACT and other college readiness exams.

Please make every effort to avoid scheduling appointments during state testing, to avoid interruptions and distractions during testing.

We appreciate your help in creating a focused and productive testing environment for our students!

RISE: 7th & 8th Grades

Middle school students will take their RISE tests in their regular English, Science & Math classes beginning Tuesday, April 19.

  • 7th Grade English: April 19-21
  • 8th Grade English + Writing: April 19-21 + 25
  • 7th Grade Math: April 26-28
  • 8th Grade Math: April 26-28
  • 7th Grade Science + Math 1: May 2-5
  • 8th Grade Science + Math 1: April 25-28

Utah Aspire Plus: 9th & 10th Grades

9th and 10th grade students will take the Utah Aspire Plus on Friday, April 22. This is a special testing day – Advisory Friday is canceled and only students taking Utah Aspire Plus are allowed on campus on Friday, April 22. Testing will begin at 8:00am and end at approximately 1:30pm.

Sports Announcements

Fall 2022 Sports Academic Eligibility

Eligibility for participation in fall activities/sports will be determined by 4th term grades. Students currently in grades 7-11 must earn a 2.7 GPA with no Fs. In addition, high school students cannot have any Fs/NGs/Incompletes from previous high school terms. If the F/NG/Incomplete is made up by the beginning of the sports season they will be able to participate as long as they have a 2.7 GPA.

Sports Physicals

All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports next year (2022-23) need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after April 15, 2022 will be good until July 15, 2023. Any physicals completed before April 15 of this year will not be accepted (per UHSAA policy) for the upcoming school year.

Here is a link to the UHSAA form which Maeser uses for ALL athletes: UHSAA Physical Form

MTech Registration for Fall 2022 (2022-23 Seniors only)

Registration for MTECH classes starting in the Fall of 2023 is rapidly approaching. All students must enroll before registering for classes. The registration portal for many fall classes opens on April 20th and the classes can fill rapidly. Make sure you have taken all the steps to be prepared and ready to register! Visit MTech Admissions to start your admission process. We highly encourage you to talk to a counselor at MTECH and possibly take a tour before making your final decision. Students may be required to take an assessment test in the enrollment process. Based on your scores you may be able to provide a high school transcript in place of the test. You can obtain your transcript by emailing Mrs. Anderson or asking for a print out from the front office. Maeser will require all students choosing MTECH this year to take a morning class session that runs from 7:30am to 10:30am or an evening class. These are the only class time frames that work with the Maeser schedule and other classes you are required to take during Senior year. If you have further questions please contact Mrs. Anderson at .
