Have Your 2021-22 Plans Changed? Please Let Us Know ASAP!
If your plans for 2021-22 enrollment have changed and your student will not be attending Maeser Prep, please contact us ASAP to let us know by emailing us at email@example.com — please include your student’s name, their 2021-22 grade, and the school they will be attending next year. We are sending out record requests for our new students and want to help you avoid having your student’s school file sent to the wrong school. We are also creating schedules for next year and want to make sure students can get into the classes they’ve requested.
Thanks so much for your help in keeping our records up to date!
2021 Summer Reading
Click here to access the 2021 Summer Reading lists.
Credit Recovery will be held June 7th – June 25th in two sessions:
- June 7-18: $125
- June 14-25: $125
The cost for both sessions (June 7-25) is $200; this is recommended for students who have more than one course to complete for remediation.
Students should attend in person daily from 9am-12pm until they have completed their remediation.
Parents received invitation letters this week for their students who need credit recovery in summer school. Once grades are finalized for 4th Term, additional invitations will be sent for registration and attendance to appropriate individuals.
You can register your student for credit recovery by clicking here: Summer School Registration 2021
Maeser Summer School credit ahead courses are only available with counselor approval for students with a specific need documented in their CCR plans. Credit ahead courses are offered through Maeser/BYU online. Students will need to meet with Mrs. Anderson to discuss what classes they would like to take and to ensure there is a reason and plan for taking the credit ahead. Each course costs $60, and provides 0.5 credits. Deadline to register is May 28th. The only classes we will be offering are the following:
- US Govt
- Financial Literacy
- Fit for Life
Interested students should email Mrs. Anderson to make an appointment or they may stop in during school hours if Mrs. Anderson is available.
Registration ends TODAY – May 28! Students will have from June 1st through July 27th to complete all the coursework including the proctored final that will be scheduled with Mrs. Sorenson (the counselor who will be running summer Maeser Online).
Please email Mrs. Anderson with any questions.
UVU Concurrent Enrollment Registration for Fall 2021 Now Open
If your student will be taking a UVU concurrent enrollment class next year you can actually enroll in UVU and register for the class now. It’s much easier to get it taken care of now and throughout the summer. Go to this link to begin the process: https://www.uvu.edu/concurrent/. The final deadline for fall registration is September 10, 2021.
Any student attending a College or University this fall will most likely need to send a copy of your official UVU transcript after graduation. UVU does all their transcript orders online and there is a fee with each transcript order. Here is the link: https://www.uvu.edu/records/.
BYU Idaho Concurrent Enrollment
Seniors Only! Upcoming Seniors wanting to register and take approved classes through BYU Idaho Concurrent Enrollment can register up through Sept 13th. Classes begin on Sept 13th and go through Dec 15th. You will be taking these classes online in an assigned classroom on Maesers campus. To enroll at BYU-I and register for classes go to this web site: https://visitingstudents.byu.edu/apply.
For a list of approved classes refer to the course offerings form for 2021-2022.
Resilient Utah Month
This past year has been difficult for many students. Here are some resources that you might find useful in helping your student develop resilience: https://www.resilientutah.org/parent-message-21/
June Socratic Teacher Training Lunches
June Socratic Teacher Training Lunches need volunteers to help provide while our Socratic teachers undergo an intense writing workshop to prepare for Fall. Thank you in advance for helping us provide this. For every $5, please count as one hour of service. Family service hours = 40, Single-parent families = 20 hours.
Maeser Counseling Donations
Maeser Counseling needs some donations for student programs. Please check out the sign-up sheet and donate if you can: Counseling Department Donations
Don’t Forget to Report Your Hours!
Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!
Lands End 30% Off School Uniforms Sale
Lands End will be offering up to 30% off on school uniforms now through June 1! Shop online at https://landsend.com/school May 26-June 1 and use Code: HOLIDAY and PIN: 1865.
Host Families Needed for Foreign Exchange Students
Applications are being accepted for volunteer families who are intested in hosting a foreign exchange student in their home for the coming school year: August 2021-June 2022. Foreign exchange students make a great contribution to our school, our community, and to your family! Students are carefully selected and screened, and they come with their own health insurance and spending money — all that is required from you is a bed, board and welcome. If your family is interested in hosting an exchange student this year, please contact Wendy Waldes for more information: 801-709-3583.
Sports Academic Eligibility for FALL Sports
Eligibility for participation in any sports/activities during the 1st term of the 2021-2022 school year will be based on 4th term grades. Students (7th-12th) must earn a 2.7 GPA with no Fs/NGs. In addition, high school students cannot have any Fs/NGs/Incompletes from previous high school terms. If the F/NG/Incomplete is made up by the beginning of the sports season they will be able to participate.
Fall Sports Guide
