Important Winterim Changes Starting 2019-20
We are making several significant changes to our Winterim program that will take effect in the 2019-20 school year. Click here for details: Winterim Changes.
Tardies
We are noticing an increased amount of tardies this semester. This is unrelated to timing of passing periods. First period, even with the later start time, is becoming increasingly an issue. This is cutting into class time and is a distraction. Fifth period is also an issue, but not as egregious as first. (Fifth is usually those high school students who have gone off campus for lunch and return late.)
Please talk with your students about this, as it does affect their grades (NGs) and disrupts class. Thank you for your help in keeping our culture strong. As a reminder, campus is open beginning at 7:00am on school days for students to be dropped off as carpool schedules may need.
SENIORS: Deadline to Purchase Graduation Supplies is April 15
The countdown to graduation has begun; it will be here before you know it! Here are a few important reminders:
- HAVE YOU ORDERED YOUR CAP AND GOWN? Caps and gowns must be ordered by April 15th to ensure you have the correct colors, size and to have it delivered at the school on time. Orders after April 15th will include an additional late fee and rush charge. Two ways to order- online at Jostens.com or call 1-800-567-8367.
- Do you have your graduation announcements/invites? Official and custom school announcements or Personalized Photo announcements can still be ordered. You can design, personalize and easily order your invites at Jostens.com. Questions? Call 1-800-567-8367.

Summer School
We are putting the final touches on summer school. This summer the format will be very similar to our Credit Recovery Winterim. The plan is to have two sessions.
- Session 1: June 10-21, 9-12 pm M-F
- Session 2: June 17-28, 9-12 pm M-F
More information on this will be included in a parent/student letter that will go home in the next few weeks. Students who did not complete remediation during Winterim or who have failed any courses during Semester 2 will be expected to attend summer school.
BYU CUSEF Science Fair This Week
Congrats and Good Luck to the students competing at the BYU CUSEF science fair this week: Eliana Herbert, Owen Okolowitz, J Stump, Scout Jones, Daphne Plott, Ben Gubler and Colin Murphy!
Fiddler on the Roof
Our online ticket site has gone live for Maeser’s production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Valentine Theater in American Fork! Please share the link below on social media and send it to all your friends and family who are interested in seeing the show.
Tickets are for reserved seating, so you will want to buy them soon to select the best available seats.
Tickets are $10 a seat. We have two discount coupon codes that you are welcome to share:
- Enter PREVIEW in the coupon code box at checkout to get $7 seats for our preview performance on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m. (This code is good only for that preview show.)
- Enter FAMILY in the coupon code box at checkout to get four tickets to any show for the discount price of $35.
Tickets will also be available in the hallway at Maeser in the week before the performance. But online purchasing is fast, easy, and available now. Please use our website to spread the word about the performance and help us publicize the show.

Dancing with the Teachers
Dancing with the Teachers is coming up on April 29th, at 6:30pm. Come out with the whole family and enjoy an evening of fun family togetherness. Proceeds from this event will go toward the New Auditorium.
Silent Auction
NHS is looking for some items/gift cards/services that we could raffle off during Dancing with the Teachers. If you have something you would be willing to donate, please contact Nicole Murray (nicole.murray@maeserprep.org). All donations count towards your family’s service hour requirement for Maeser!
Activities/Sports Eligibility for 1st Term 2019-2020
Do you plan on participating in a sport/activity during the 1st term of the 2019-2020 school year? If the answer is yes then your eligibility will be based on your 4th term grades THIS YEAR. That is correct, the grades you earn this term will determine whether or not you can participate and this applies to all current 7th-11th graders. The standard is a 2.7 GPA with no Fs/NGs. An additional requirement for high school students is no Fs/NGs from any previous high school terms. The good news: if you have an F/NG during any previous terms you will have the summer to make them up if needed.
UVU Youth Summer Camps
UVU is pleased to announce the opening of their 2019 summer youth programs and camps. Spaces in these educational camps fill up quickly, so act now if your student is interested!
