Attendance School

Does your student have an NG that needs to be made up?
Please check PowerSchool to see if your student has an attendance-based NGs. (We recommend using a browser for this, as the PowerSchool app doesn’t always show NGs!)

In addition to our lunchtime Attendance School sessions Monday through Wednesday, we will also be holding SPECIAL attendance school sessions after Finals on Thursday, Friday, and Monday, from 12:30-1:30pm. There is NO Attendance School on Tuesday, December 18.

Student Survey and Course Evaluation

All students are encouraged to sign into their Maeser Google accounts and submit their course evaluations for Fall semester. Students should complete one survey for each class they are taking this semester. PLEASE NOTE: Your student must be signed in to his or her MAESER Google account to access the course evaluation survey.

Order Graduation Supplies

Seniors, Have you ordered your caps/gowns/tassels yet? Jostens has only received 7 orders from current seniors to order their supplies. Packets can be picked up in the counselors’ office OR go to Jostens Online to purchase today. Jostens raises their prices in February, so order now for the best price! Supplies are delivered to the school in early May.

Service Opportunity

Orem Rotary and Hope 4 Orem are sponsoring a new Interact service club. The first meeting will be Thursday, December 13th from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Janis Lindley’s home (263 S Royal Ann Circle Orem, UT 84058). Interact will meet twice a month. Any interested High school students from MVHS, Orem, Timpanogos and Maeser are invited to attend.

In addition to local service projects all Utah Interact clubs also have the opportunity to go to Mexico June 9 – 16, 2019. The registration deadline is February 17, 2019. Click here for more details: http://utahrotaryyouth.org/page-1847550.

MSI (Middle School Intensives) Announcements

Student Supplies for MSI Sewing (8th grade)

All 8th grade students will participate in a sewing unit during Middle School Intensives in January. You will need to bring the following items to the sewing class.

  • 2/3 yard of fleece fabric (60 inches wide) for making 2 hats
  • Three buttons: one 2-hole, one 4-hole, and a shank button
  • Two 8-inch squares of print cotton for a quilt square (you may bring extra fabric for more than one quilt square

If you cannot bring an item, please talk to Mrs. Goodrich BEFORE the first day of the sewing class.

Middle School Spelling Bee

Volunteer Help Needed!

MSI Sewing Class (8th Grade)

We need parent volunteers for the Sewing class for 8th grade held during MSI. We also need additional sewing machines to borrow for the class. If you can do either or both, please email Mrs. Goodrich marlene.goodrich@maeserprep.org. We need to have it set before the Christmas break. Thanks!

Grant Committee

We are looking for several parents to join our Grant committee. If you are interested in using your volunteer hours to help Maeser look for and write grants, please email robyn.ellis@maeserprep.org.

Concurrent Enrollment for 2nd Semester

Students planning on taking a Concurrent Enrollment class during 2nd semester need to begin the admission process NOW! Visit UVU Concurrent Enrollment for details and to begin the admission process.

Students planning on taking Math 1030 or Math 1060 next semester need to make sure to register for these classes before Christmas Break.

Sports Announcements

HS Boys Soccer Conditioning

Optional preseason conditioning will begin January 2nd from 3-4pm at CrossFit Lehi (401 S. 850 E. Lehi, Utah). Conditioning will be everyday during Winterim (Jan 2-18).

Activities/Sports Eligibility for Quarter 3 and beyond

Students must earn a 2.7 GPA with no Fs/NGs for the 2nd term in order to be eligible to participate in activities sports during the 3rd term. In addition to this standard, any high school students who have NGs/Fs from any previous high school courses will be required to make up the F/NG before they are eligible to participate in activities/sports. Contact the counselors to learn more about options for making up these courses.

Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship

The Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 1988, provides a one-time merit-based scholarship to an exceptional Utah woman attending a college or university outside the state of Utah. The recipient must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada, a Utah resident at the time of application, and have attended high school or college in Utah. Each year, a scholarship award is funded entirely by the available earned interest. The fund is maintained by the P.E.O. Foundation and administered by the Susan W. Coda Memorial Scholarship Committee. Applications are available NOW from the counselors and are due no later than March 1 to be considered.
