Space Exploration Winterim 2018

If you are interested in these and other fascinating questions about space, come join us in the Space Exploration Winterim 2018. There will be an information meeting for all interested students and parents on Thursday, May 4th at 7:00pm in room 155.

Parent-specific Announcements

Attendance Reminders

Parents, remember that school is coming to an end. Please be sure and have your student(s) take care of their NG(s) by May 23rd.

Parents may excuse absences within 10 school days of the date of the absence. If an absence is not excused within 10 school days, the student may do one of the following to excuse the NG:

  1. Go to Attendance School at 11:10 – 11:30 in room 151. The cost is $2.00 per 20 minute make up session. Attendance School is a 20 minute session. If the student needs to make up a tardy (T) or (C), it is one 20 minute session. If the student needs to make up an unexcused absence (X) it is two 20 minute sessions.
  2. Arrange time to work it off with a teacher (ask the teacher for permission FIRST and then ask for the form in the front office). There is no charge to make up attendance with a teacher.

If your child is a senior and they have an NG that is not made up, they will not be able to attend Lagoon Day.

We also want to remind you that if you receive a phone call regarding your child’s attendance for that day and you know you have already excused your student, we apologize for the inconvenience. We try to post Attendance every day by 4:00, but sometimes we get swamped at the front desk and we need up to 24 hours to update the Attendance. We appreciate your patience!

Volunteer Needs

Still need to get your volunteer hours in for this year?

Have a current 2016-17 background check on file?
We are in need of several parents who have current background checks on file and are willing to volunteer as substitutes so our teachers can proctor AP exams during the first two weeks of May. If you are willing to help and have completed your background check for this year, please email info@maeserprep.org for details. Thank you!

Need to report your volunteer hours for this year?
If you’ve completed volunteer hours for this school year but haven’t yet reported them, please visit the form on our website to report those hours: Report Parent Service Hours.

Too busy to volunteer before the end of the school year?
Did you know you can make a donation in lieu of volunteer hours? Volunteer hours can be “bought out” at $7.50 per hour (or $300 for the full 40 hours). Donations can be made at the front desk during office hours or on our RevTrak fee payment site. If you make a donation in lieu of volunteer hours, please remember to record your donation at the link above.
