Truth | Honor | Virtue

Each week in this new feature, we’ll be celebrating some of the great things our school community is doing!

High School Debate

Our high school debaters did very well at the Skyhawk Smackdown over the weekend:

  • Grant Scollick came away with first place in Novice Spontaneous Argumentation, 5th place in Novice Lincoln-Douglas, and 5th place in Novice Impromptu
  • Faith Wong got 1st place in Varsity Declamation
  • Timothy Fang got 4th place in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas

Coding Success

Junior Tylan Parkinson single handedly coded and developed a facial recognition program to help with the yearbook. He contacted some of our alumni for advice then wrote the code over a single weekend!

Capital Campaign: Fundraising Chair

The Maeser Board of Directors is searching for a Fundraising Chair to spearhead our capital campaign to build our Auditorium. If you have experience and are interested, please send inquiries and resume to jason.dodge@maeserprep.org. Additionally, if you would like to serve on this committee, please send an email of interest to jason.dodge@maeserprep.org and/or cynthia.shumway@maeserprep.org.

Outstanding Student Account Balances: $15 Late Fee on December 3

Balances on student accounts that are NOT on a payment plan will be assessed another $15 late fee on December 3. Payment plan families who have not made their November payment will also be assessed a $15 late fee on December 3. If you have any questions, would like to set up a payment plan, or would like to apply for a fee waiver, please email finance@maeserprep.org BEFORE December 3. Thank you!

Re-Enrollment For CURRENT Students For 2022-23 Due This Week!

Re-enrollment for current Maeser studentswho will be returning for the 2022-23 school year is due THIS THURSDAY (December 2) in our brand-new online application/enrollment system accessible inside the PowerSchool parent portal!

Submit Your Current Student’s Re-Enrollment Application

Re-enrollment applications are now live inside the PowerSchool parent portal. Please check your email for detailed instructions on completing the re-enrollment application for your student(s). NOTE: You cannot re-enroll on the PowerSchool app; you will need to use a browser.

Pay Your Student’s Re-Enrollment Deposit

These fees have already been assessed in PowerSchool. Deposits are nonrefundable and will be applied to your student’s 2022-2023 student fees. You may pay online (preferred) via our RevTrak fee payment system, or by phone or in person in the front office during business hours. If you are currently on a fee waiver, the re-enrollment fee has already been waived.

The deadline to re-enroll for the 2022-2023 school year is Thursday, December 2nd. This allows us to plan for the number of open spots we can offer to new students in our enrollment lottery in February. For the past several years, our wait list has far exceeded the number of seats available at Maeser, so we want to be sure your Maeser student has a spot reserved for next year!

If you have questions, please email our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org.

NEW Student Lottery Applications For 2022-23

Lottery applications for NEW students for the 2022-23 school year are NOW OPEN in our new online application/enrollment system!

To submit an application for a NEW student, click here to complete the Lottery Application. You can also access the lottery application by visiting our website (www.maeserprep.org) and clicking Admissions and then Submit An Application.

Applications must be received by February 1, 2022 to be included in the 2022-23 lottery. After that date, students will be added to the waitlist in the order their application is submitted.

Remember: DO NOT submit an online application for your CURRENT Maeser student — online applications are for NEW students only (that means new families & new incoming students of current families).

Because this is a brand new application/enrollment system, you will need to select “Create An Account”. (The application/enrollment system is different from your PowerSchool parent account.) You will continue to use the application/enrollment system account to submit additional applications for siblings (this year or in the future) and to enroll your student(s) if they receive an offer following our lottery. Please keep your login info handy.

If you have more than one NEW student applying for Maeser next year, you must submit a separate application for each new student.

REMEMBER: DO NOT submit an online application for your CURRENT Maeser student — online applications are for NEW students only.

If you have questions, please email our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org.

Schoolwide Science Fair Applications Due THIS WEEK

The School Wide Science Fair will be held virtually this year. Students must make a video (YouTube is preferred) about their science project and submit it to the competition by December 1 at midnight. This is the link to submit their project and video to the school science fair: 2021 School Science Fair Sign-Up.

Questions? Ask your science teacher or Mrs. Hansen.
