Mission

Our mission is to empower young dancers to grow as confident artists and leaders through high-quality training, creative expression, and meaningful performance opportunities, while fostering a supportive and inclusive community grounded in the values of a classical education.

About

Maeser Dance Company is an exciting addition to the school community as of August 2025. Led by Dance Director Jordan Halterman, Maeser dance is an audition-only, year-round extracurricular program for experienced dancers that focuses on creating new choreography and performing with correct dance technique.

Our dancers explore a variety of dance genres including Modern/Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip Hop. They perform for the student body and local community in concerts, assemblies, half-times, and special events. In addition to school and community showcases, Maeser Dance Company competes at adjudicated events such as the High School Shakespeare Competition and the Utah Dance Festival. In our very first season, Maeser Dance Company earned 2nd in the High School Shakespeare Competition for both the Ensemble and Duet categories.

Beyond performances, dancers also have opportunities to attend shows, events and masterclasses to learn from professional artists, and to gain insight into dance pathways after high school. We are passionate about creating and sharing art through movement, fostering a supportive and positive company culture, and connecting with the school and community through meaningful performance experiences.

Support Maeser Dance

We invite you to support our growing dance program and help provide meaningful opportunities for our students. Your generous donation directly supports the program by covering entrance fees, costumes, guest choreography, performance expenses, off-campus experiences and other enrichment activities that allow our dancers to learn and share their talents with the community. With your support we can expand our program, inspire creativity, open new opportunities, make connections with college dance programs and local dance organizations, and share the joy of dance with our school and community. Additionally, if you or your studio would like to donate costumes, we gratefully accept costumes sizes Youth XL and all adult sizes to help support or performances. Join us on the Maeser stage for an evening of dance, creativity, and celebration. Our dancers will present original choreography and student-created works, and we will honor our graduating seniors with featured senior solo performances.
