Katie Millar Wirig, author and musician, has a lifelong passion for helping youth thrive. She began her career as a teen actress, appearing in films, commercials, and the WB series Everwood, before shifting her focus to mental health and earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology. Katie represented Utah in the Miss America Program, placing in the top 10 – an experience that launched her career as a motivational speaker focused on youth empowerment, mental wellness, and healthy self-esteem. An accomplished violinist, Katie has spent the past 15 years teaching and mentoring young musicians through her private studio and school programs. Her mission at Maeser is to empower students through music to find their voice and purpose, helping them grow into engaged and impactful members of their community. When she’s not teaching, Katie enjoys traveling, running, reading, and exploring Utah’s stunning outdoors with her family.
