About
Mrs. Aly Hong is a dedicated educator with four years of experience at Maeser, where she teaches 7th-grade Historian’s Craft, 7th-grade Classical Foundations, and World Geography. She also serves as the advisor for the Maeser National Honor Society Chapter.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education: Social Studies Composite from Utah Valley University. Her teaching philosophy centers on student ownership of learning: she believes students are ultimately in charge of their own education. While she provides all the tools, guidance, and support they need to succeed, she encourages them to actively choose to use those tools and take responsibility for their growth.
A passionate world traveler, Mrs. Hong has explored 17 countries and is currently studying Spanish, French, and Korean with the long-term goal of becoming a polyglot. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys art, reading, comics, musicals, and engaging in creative projects. She is committed to fostering curiosity, confidence, and independence in her students and looks forward to supporting them throughout the school year.
