Uniform Reminder

Reminder of some more obscure uniform requirements.

The following are not allowed:

  • Slides, including Birkenstocks. A strap or heel across the back of your shoes is required.
  • Cargo shorts, pants, or skirts. The only pockets that are allowed are the typical front and back pockets.

Additionally, remember that on the first day of the week (usually Mondays), high schoolers wear the blazer and middle schoolers must wear the red cardigan. Blue sweaters/cardigans don’t replace the blazer.

HS National Geography Bee

Maeser High Schoolers Have a Shot at Boston!

This year, Maeser Prep is joining the National Geography Bee, a nationwide competition open to high schools across the country. Our students will compete for the title of Maeser’s Geography Bee Champion between January 3 and February 26, 2027. From there, our school champion advances to a virtual national qualifying round in March, with top qualifiers earning a trip to the National Finals in Boston, Massachusetts this April.

It’s an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their knowledge of the world — we’ll share more details as our competition date is finalized. Learn more at nationalgeobee.org.

MS (7th & 8th) In-House Geography Bee

This year, our 7th and 8th graders are getting their own spin on the National Geography Bee! Rather than the standard online assessment, Maeser is hosting an in-house geography competition just for our middle schoolers — a fun, school-spirited way to test their world knowledge and see who comes out on top. We’ll share dates and details as they’re finalized!

Every Day Counts!

The Utah State Board of Education knows that attendance is important for student growth and learning. So they have created the USBE Every Day Counts Initiative. Check out the following posts!

Post 1: Every Day Counts Campaign Introduction

Every Day Counts is a statewide campaign focused on the moments that shape students, including friendships, breakthroughs, confidence, and connection.

Post 2: The 95% Attendance Message

Attending at least 95% of the school year can help students stay on track, while reminding families that the goal is not perfect attendance.

Post 3: Simple Attendance Habits for Families

Practical steps families can take, such as building consistent routines, preparing the night before, and scheduling appointments outside school hours when possible.

Study Hall

Need a quiet productive space after school? Maeser National Honor society will be hosting a Study Hall on Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in room 205. Come if you need a productive space, a desk to work at, or chromebook access. NHS members will supervise the session and will also be open to tutor and answer any questions, if possible.

Math Lab

Do you need some help in math? Do you need a quiet place to work on math homework?  The math tutoring lab is open Monday through Thursday each week.  Before school (7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.), the math lab is in room #302.  After school (3:45 – 4:15 p.m.), the math lab is in room #103.  The math lab is FREE and open to all Maeser students in any level of math.

Attendance School

NGs are made up in attendance school:

M-Th 7:15-7:45

T, Th 3:45-4:15

More information about NGs can be found here.
