Lunch Options This Week
On days that the school uses the preorder forms, please let your child know they will have 10 minutes to get their lunch and after 10 minutes we will start selling the extras to students who did not preorder.

TODAY: MS Farewell Feast
The Middle School Student Council is hosting a Farewell Feast at Glenn Canyon Park today, Friday May 8th, from 12:30-2:30.
Students who wish to participate need to return the Field Trip Consent Form they received in their Classical Foundations Class this week.
We will have buses to take students to and from the Picnic. Students need to bring their own lunch and are welcome to bring any games, balls, etc., that they would like to use during the picnic.
New Trustlands Committee Members Selected
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Community Council vote for our Trustlands Committee. We are grateful for your engagement and for the individuals who were willing to be considered as candidates.
Following the vote, we are pleased to announce that the individuals selected to serve on the Trustlands Committee are Deborah Gulledge, Naomi Wagstaff, and Julie Walker.
We appreciate all who took the time to vote and extend our sincere thanks to each candidate for their willingness to serve and support our school community.
School Musical: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella
Come join us for this year’s magical musical: Cinderella! Cinderella will be playing on the Maeser stage May 8th & 9th at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

Maeser Orchestra End-of-Year Celebration Concert
The orchestra program will be holding our End-of-Year Celebration Concert on Monday, May 11th at 7:00 PM. The concert will take place at Mountain Ridge Jr. High.
Come support our seniors as they each perform a farewell solo piece with the orchestra. We are especially excited to celebrate our beloved seniors including Austin Adamson, Ellie Anglesey, Connor Embry, Susanna Johnson, Austin Rode & Emma Wirig. See you there!
MS Shakespeare Auditions

- Who: Students going into 8th or 9th grade
- When: Monday, May 11; Wednesday, May 13; and Thursday, May 14 (Please note: There are no auditions on Tuesday, May 12)
- Time: Immediately after school

- Audition Requirements:

- For Lead/Featured Roles: Students should come prepared with a 30–60 second memorized piece (monologue, poem, or song lyrics).
- For Ensemble/General Participation: No audition is necessary. Students interested in a smaller role are welcome to join us at our first rehearsal during the first week of school — no preparation required.
Maeser Art End-of-Year Showcase
Thursday, May 14th, 6-7pm
The lower Maeser hallways will be filled with art, showcasing work created by our spring 2026 art students. Come see the art at 6pm and stay for the choir concert at 7pm in the gym. It will be fun and free!
Maeser Dance Company Auditions
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Maeser Dance Company! Audition Registration for the 26-27 Company is now open, and packets are available for submission. You can find all the audition information and forms at https://sites.google.com/maeserprep.org/mdc-auditions/home
Mark your calendar for the Pre-Audition Meeting on May 12th at 7:00pm, and we’ll provide more information there. Please note that Dance Company will take place during 1st period (as a release period) + early morning next year, so you can work with the counselors to arrange your schedule if needed.

Final Exams Schedule: May 15-20
Please help your students finish the school year strong as they prepare for Finals in their core classes. REMEMBER: Friday, May 15th is a required Final Exam day. Please plan ahead so your student does not miss their Finals in 1st and 3rd period classes.
The schedule for each day of Finals is 8:00am to 12:30pm, with the first exam from 8:00-10:00am and the second from 10:30am-12:30pm. Students will have a 30-minute break between Finals (from 10:00-10:30am).

Senior Class Picture: 7:30 AM sharp on the front steps.
- Boys: Full dress uniform (minus the blazer).
- Girls: A dress, slacks, or whatever they plan to wear under their graduation gown.
- Cap and gown are required for the photo. Students may change into their regular school uniforms after the picture.
Senior Breakfast: Following the class picture, seniors will enjoy a special breakfast in the cafeteria.
Awards Ceremony: 9:00 – 11:00 AM

Sports Announcements
Sports Physicals
All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports during the 2025-2026 school year need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after March 10, 2025 will be good until July 15, 2026. Here is the link to the UHSAA form which Maeser uses for ALL athletes: UHSAA Physical Form.
2026-27 1st Term Sports Academic Eligibility
9th-12th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2026-27 school year for 9th-12th graders will be based on 4th term grades. Students must have earned a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs. In addition, 10th-12th graders must be on track for graduation.
7th-8th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2026-27 school year for 7th and 8th graders will be based on 4th term grades. Students must earn a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs.

Counseling Announcements
ACT Prep Sign-up for Sophomores
ACT Prep will be starting up again in June. Please read the following and sign up through this link if you’d like to attend.
- Attendance is required for all days. Only sign up if you are committed to attending each session – no exceptions!
- Space is limited to 30 students. Priority will be given to Sophomores who have not participated in ACT prep.
- Cost is $125, but if you are taking it for the first time we will cover your fee. Payment must be made to the front desk before June 1st, or you will be dropped from the session.
- Because there is limited space, there is a $50 fee for dropping after May 18th. Please only sign up if you are sure you can attend.
- Students will have breaks throughout their sessions.
- Regular dress uniform is required.
- Lunch is not provided – please bring your own.

Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Counseling Donations Needed
The School Counseling Team needs donations of large bags of individually wrapped candy. Donations can count toward volunteer hours! Candy Details:
- Type: An assortment, including chocolate, hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers), Tootsie Pops or Rolls, and other assorted bags. Please include some non-chocolate options as well.
- Quantity: 4–5 bags per month.
Maeser Board Business
Meeting Schedule & Location
Our meeting schedule has changed to the second Wednesday of each month instead of the second Tuesday. The time of 7:00pm will remain the same. We will continue to meet in the Maeser Library as well as provide an online meeting link. Have questions? Email [email protected].

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information. You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
