Lunch Options This Week

On days that the school uses the preorder forms, please let your child know they will have 10 minutes to get their lunch and after 10 minutes we will start selling the extras to students who did not preorder.

TODAY: NO SCHOOL – Teacher Professional Day

Today (Friday, September 12th) is a Teacher Professional Day. No Advisory classes will be held today and students should not be on campus.

Homecoming Game & Alumni Cookout

Our Girls Soccer team’s Homecoming Game will be on Tuesday, September 16th vs UMA at 4:00pm. Come cheer on the team and stay for the cookout at 5:15pm!

Math Team Info Meeting

There is an information meeting for the High School and Middle School Math teams. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 17th during lunch in Mrs. Plott’s room (#302). We’ll bring treats, but bring your own lunch. The math team is open to any student in any level of math. During this meeting, we will talk about our competition season, get permission slips, and do some fun math problems.

Homecoming Dance

This year’s homecoming theme is Men in Black. Mark your calendars for September 20th from 8 to 11pm. The venue is Southworth Hall, and the address is 116 W Center Street, Provo. Couples tickets cost $25 and stag costs $15. Tickets will be available for purchase in room 147 starting Monday, September 15. See you there!

Maeser Homecoming Market

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Homecoming Market on Friday September 19th from 12:30-3:00, an event designed to bring together students, families, and alumni while celebrating creativity and community. To ensure its success, we invite your participation in the following ways:

  • Vendors: Parents, students, and alumni are welcome to sell handmade goods, crafts, or other items. Register to sell here.
  • Live Music: We are seeking performers from among parents, alumni, and students—or recommendations of musicians who may be interested in sharing their talents.
  • Food Trucks: We hope to feature food trucks at the market. If you have contacts or can assist in arranging them, your support would be greatly valued.

Those who can help with live music or food trucks should email volunteer@maeserprep.org. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, showcase talents, and strengthen our Maeser community.

Maeser Orchestra: Fundraiser Concert

Come support the Maeser Orchestra as they prepare for their exciting trip to Disney’s Imagineering campus!

September 29th at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets: $7 for adults | $5 for students & children

Enjoy an evening filled with great music, concessions, raffles, and giveaways—all while helping our orchestra program thrive. Every ticket and donation goes directly to supporting the orchestra.

Fee Announcements

Proposed New Fee: Public Comment Period Open Through November 11, 2025

A new Dance Team fee has been proposed as an addition to the 2025-26 Fee Schedule & Spend Plan. (We also clarified the HS Choir fee name). If you would like to share any feedback with the board before their final approval of the Dance Fee at their November board meeting, you may:

Request to speak during the public comment period of the October 14 or November 11 board meetings (you can come in person or email samantha.stonely@maeserprep.org for the online meeting link)

Annual & Class Fees Due Wednesday, October 1

All annual fees and class fees (first semester & full year classes) are due on Wednesday, October 1. Balances after the due date will be charged a late fee (up to $15). Second semester class fees will be charged in February.

Some of you have already paid your student’s annual fees (Winterim, Graduation, PE Uniform for 7th graders)–thank you! Now that schedules have settled down, we have also charged class fees. We need parent help with the Homecoming Market on Friday, September 19th. Those who can help with live music or food trucks should email volunteer@maeserprep.org. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, showcase talents, and strengthen our Maeser community.

Homecoming Alumni Hot Dog Cookout

We are seeking parent volunteers—and grills!—to help with our Homecoming Alumni Hot Dog Cookout during the girls’ soccer game. From setup to serving and clean up, there are lots of ways to pitch in. Sign up here.

Breakfast for PSAT Day

On Wednesday, October 15th our Juniors will have the opportunity to take the PSAT. In order to start them off right, we offer breakfast and a mid-test snack to keep their brains powered. We would love help from our parents! Please sign up to help here.

HS Girls Basketball Meeting

There will be a girls basketball informational meeting on Thursday, September 18th during lunch in room 301 for any 9th-12th girls interested in trying out for basketball.

Utah High School Athletics Survey

We have been asked to help gather feedback on possible updates to Utah’s high school sports calendars and time commitment policies. Your perspective is important in ensuring that any changes support student well-being, academic balance, and healthy participation in athletics.

Sports Physicals

All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports during the 2025-2026 school year need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after March 10, 2025 will be good until July 15, 2026. Here is the link to the UHSAA form which Maeser uses for ALL athletes: UHSAA Physical Form.

2025-26 1st Term Sports/Activities Eligibility

10th-12th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2025-2026 school year for 10th-12th graders will be based on 4th term grades. Students must have earned a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs. In addition, 10th-12th graders must be on track for graduation. If students fail a class during the 4th term they can make up the class through summer school or other online options (counselors have more information on other options) and the class must be made up by the first day of school in August.

8th-9th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2025-2026 school year for 8th and 9th graders will be based on 4th term grades in science, math, and English. Students also cannot have any NGs in any classes. If students fail any of these classes during the 4th term they must attend summer school to make up the class or if they have any NGs in any class they will not be eligible for fall sports.

Counseling Announcements

Senior College & Career Readiness Meetings (CCRs)

Senior CCRs are underway and will run through October 7th. Parents are invited to attend in person or virtually with their Seniors.

Availability is limited, so please check with your student before scheduling to avoid double booking.

Counseling Donations Needed

The School Counseling Team needs donations of large bags of individually wrapped candy. Donations can count toward volunteer hours!

Candy Details:

  • Type: An assortment, including chocolate, hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers), Tootsie Pops or Rolls, and other assorted bags. Please include some non-chocolate options as well.
  • Quantity: 4–5 bags per month.

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

Update Your Contact Information

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.
