2024-2025 Academic Calendar

Our 2024-2025 school calendar has been approved and is posted on our website under the Parents drop-down menu. Please be aware that Orientation day for all incoming and new students is Friday, August 9. School starts for everyone on Monday, August 12 and our last day of school (graduation) will be May 23, 2025.

We realize this start date is early! By aligning our calendar closely with the Alpine School District, families with students at Maeser and at district schools are better able to coordinate their schedules.

Maeser Activities Calendar

Looking for our calendar for games, dances, and other school activities? Our Activities Calendar is also posted on our website under the Parents drop-down menu.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Congratulations to the Class of 2024! You have made a mark on your fellow students and community that will be felt for years to come. Through your diligent study, selfless service, and infectious positivity you have and will, undoubtedly, influence your spheres of influence wherever you go. May you take the lessons learned at Maeser and build upon them throughout your life! Upward and onward, dear friends!

Class of 2024 Graduation Activities: Friday, May 24

TODAY: Graduation Rehearsal & Ceremony at Thanksgiving Point Show Barn

  • 9:00am: Graduation Rehearsal (mandatory for all graduates!)
  • 12:30pm: Graduates back at the Show Barn in caps & gowns to line up (east side of the barn)
  • 1:00pm: Graduation Ceremony — due to space limitations, each graduate may invite up to 10 guests to attend

Summer Reading

There are so many great books out there, and we encourage you to spend time reading some of them this summer. The community book this year is Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Here are the 2024 Summer Reading Lists. We’ll be having a special summer reading book club at the end of the summer, so grab a book, curl up on the grass under the shade of a nice tree, and lose yourself in literature!

Summer Robotics Kickoff

We will be meeting to kick off the summer robotics season on Friday, May 31 at 5:00pm in room 223 at the school. We’ll start learning some skills for next year, and have some food together. If your student wants to be involved but can’t make that day, let Mr Summers know and he’ll add them to the email list.

NG Make-up

There will be service opportunities the week after school as teachers clean up their classrooms for summer. Please check in at the front office during business hours. After this, NGs become NCs (essentially Fs) and coursework will need to be remediated.

Summer School-Credit Recovery

As we prepare for the upcoming summer, we wanted to share some important updates regarding summer school. Beginning this summer, we will be focusing solely on credit recovery (credit make-up) during our two sessions of Maeser summer school. This means that original credit (credit ahead) will not be offered.

If your student has failed a class, they are strongly encouraged to attend summer school to remain on track for graduation and avoid remediating credits at a later time.

The dates for Maeser summer school offered are as follows:

  • Summer School Session 1 ($225): Session 1 is three weeks long (June 3-21). If a student completes coursework by June 14, $75 will be refunded.
  • Summer School Session 2 ($150): Session 2 is two weeks long (June 10-21).

Each session runs for two weeks. Your student only needs to attend for as long as it takes them to make up the work and obtain a passing grade.

While we previously offered credit ahead, we’ve chosen to prioritize credit recovery to maintain the quality and integrity of our exceptional school-year education and to avoid extending the reach of our faculty beyond the school year.

If you are still interested in obtaining original credits to get ahead during the summer, please see your student’s counselor for external resources. These resources can provide an official transcript of credit once the course is completed. Please note that associated costs are your responsibility and will not be reimbursed.

Fall Used Uniform Sale

All Maeser families are invited to join us on Wednesday, August 7 from 6-8 PM in the Maeser Gym for the Used Uniform Sale. This sale is an opportunity to allow parents to sell their old uniforms, (please hang onto them from this school year and bring them to sell) and for parents to purchase needed uniforms in good condition at a low cost.

Volunteer: Please sign up to help us run the sale!

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F45ABAA2AAAF58-49502315-maeser

We will only be selling items that parents bring to sell. Please bring your used uniforms to sell!

To SELL items: Drop off labeled items (envelope safety pinned to item, labeled with Name, Phone, Venmo QR code, Description, Price) that have been laundered along with the Parent Waiver Form (filled out) to the volunteer at Maeser (lunchroom) on Wednesday Aug 7, 8:30-9:30am or 3:30-6:00pm. All unsold items need to be picked up within 30 minutes of the close of the sale. Any money or clothing not picked up will be considered a donation to the school.

To BUY items: The used uniform sale is mostly CASH ONLY — bring lots of $1 and $5 bills. If parents who are selling items would like to write their Venmo Username (with QR code or last 4 digits of phone) on their envelopes, you can use Venmo, too. Checks and credit cards will not be accepted.

To help our school community, the Maeser Uniform Committee has created a suggested guideline for pricing:

Polo shirts: $3-$5
Dress shirts: $3-$5
Cardigans: $10
Shorts: $2-$4
Pants: $2-$5
Skirts: $5
PE clothing: $2-$5

Volunteer Opportunities

Gift Cards for Teachers

Thank you for your support this year. Your generosity with bringing in food and helping with various needs has been overwhelming. Thank you!

At this time, we are asking for gift cards to give to teachers when they want to purchase items (including food) for various class activities, and for the administration to give to teachers for a pat on the back and a token of appreciation. If you’re inclined please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up: Gift Cards for Teachers.

Teacher Appreciation Donations

Thank you to those who have donated treats and goodies the past few months. We would like to resupply the faculty lounge with a variety of treats/drinks. The following link has an updated signupgenius that has a variety of items listed that are popular with the staff, but is not limited to those items only. If you can help, please visit the following link to sign up (can be used for volunteer hours!): Help Provide Teacher Treats. Thank you for your generosity!

Report Your Volunteer Hours

DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:

Opt In For School Text Messages

Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.

You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.

You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

Update Your Contact Information

If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.

Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!
