HAPPENING TODAY
All Students On Campus For Winterim/MSI Meetings
TODAY, December 12, all students need to be on campus for the fourth period of Advisory Friday (11:20-12:00) to attend important Winterim/MSI information meetings with their teachers. Winterim is almost here, and in these meetings students will receive important information including travel schedules, permission slips, and curriculum materials. It’s very important that all students attend. Students should sign up for their Winterim/MSI teacher for fourth period on their LSP. Even if they have a problem and can’t find their teacher on the LSP, they should still come.
Front Office Closing At NOON
Our school office will close right at 12 today instead of our usual 12:30pm closing time, due to our Faculty Christmas Party. The office we will also be closing at 1:00pm next week on Finals days: Tuesday through Friday.
Maeser Angel Tree: Coats & Christmas Presents for Maeser Families in Need
With Christmas rapidly approaching, we invite you to join us in spreading some holiday cheer! For her Capstone project, senior Beth Alleman will be collecting coats and Christmas presents for Maeser families in need.
If you or someone you know could use a little extra support this season: please email Ms. Lewis at heather.lewis@maeserprep.org with your name and contact information.
If you’d like to donate or help provide gifts and coats: keep an eye out for flyers around the school or reach out to Ms. Lewis at heather.lewis@maeserprep.org.
Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. Let’s make this holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most!

Volunteer Opportunities
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Current parent volunteer opportunities are always available at this link and will be updated regularly.
MSI Sewing 8th Grade
Volunteer help in the MSI sewing class is greatly appreciated. It is a great way to get volunteer hours and a lot of fun, too! You don’t have to have an 8th grade student in the class to volunteer or be a great sewer; just be willing to help students. All help is welcome! For more information and to sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: 2026 MSI 8th Grade Sewing.
Sewing Machines Needed
The Middle School Sewing class is in need of 2-3 extra sewing machines. If you have an extra machine that you wouldn’t mind allowing 8th graders to learn a few basic sewing skills on, please contact Marlene Goodrich at marlene.goodrich@maeserprep.org or Laura Ure at laura.ure@maeserprep.org. Students sew fleece hats and we have learned that the Singer and Bernina machines usually work better than the Brother machines.
Crochet Winterim Supplies
Our Crochet Winterim needs some supplies! Here’s a link to a SignUp Genius with our needs. The yarn would be most helpful to have donated during Finals week so we can have it to prepare over the holiday break. Stuffing and snacks would be fine in January. If you have extra crochet supplies hanging around that aren’t exactly what we asked for, feel free to drop them at the school between now and the first week of Winterim. We’ll use them or find a home for them. The yarn and stuffing for the animals are necessary, but the snacks are just nice to have. If you decide to donate snacks, those would be best to get during the first week of Winterim.
3D Printing
Mr. Simmons is looking for a parent willing and able to 3D print 30 small “Greek Warrior” figures to give to his students to commemorate their time reading The Iliad and The Odyssey. He has the files ready. Please contact dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org if you are willing to help with this project.
Gift Cards for Christmas Teacher Appreciation
We are in need of donations of gift cards for Christmas teacher appreciation: Target, Swig, Walmart, Costco, and food. We will be doing lots of fun activities for December. Please drop off these cards at the front desk.
Spanish Speakers Needed
We’re looking for bilingual (English/Spanish) Maeser parents to help some of our Spanish-speaking parents understand school policies and procedures. Your support can make a big difference in helping everyone feel informed and included. Please email volunteer@maeserprep.org.
Teacher Appreciation Donations
The following link has a signupgenius that has a variety of items listed that are popular with the staff, but is not limited to those items only. These donations can count towards your volunteer hours. For more details and to sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: Teacher Treats. Thank you for your generosity.
Report Your Volunteer Hours
DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

UHED Event for Juniors – Sign Up Now!
We have been invited to participate in Pleasant Grove High School’s Utah Higher Education Day on January 26th from 8:00-10:30 AM. Because January 26th falls on a non-school day, students will need to attend on their own. This event is a great opportunity to explore Utah colleges! You’ll be able to choose which college presentations to attend and learn more about their programs, scholarships, and admissions processes. You must be seated in the auditorium by 8am and carpooling is highly encouraged.
