Lunch Options This Week
On days that the school uses the preorder forms, please let your child know they will have 10 minutes to get their lunch and after 10 minutes we will start selling the extras to students who did not preorder.

NHS Applications Due By Noon TODAY
If your student is applying for the National Honor Society, the completed application is due TODAY, Friday, November 21st, by 12:00 pm. The application needs to be handed to Mrs. Hong by the student and in person. No late applications will be accepted. If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. Hong at aly.hong@maeserprep.org.
Senior Capstone Service Opportunity Tomorrow: Donate Clothing for Homeless & At Risk Teens
Seniors Nate Bowler and Jonas Larsen are gathering donations of desirable clothing for homeless and at risk teens, which will be donated to a family shelter that will allocate them to the intended recipients. They are hosting a clothing drive tomorrow, Saturday, November 22nd, from 10am-1pm, at a local church located at 1546 North 1100 West in Orem. They will have homemade cookies for anyone that donates.
Fall Play: Pride and Prejudice
The final performances of Maeser Drama’s production of Pride and Prejudice are Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd. Performances will be held at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM November 21st and 22nd. Tickets are $10 for students (K-college) and $12 general admission. Tickets may be purchased in the front office beginning November 10th. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Seating is limited. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance.
No Maeser Updates Next Friday, November 27
Maeser Updates will be on hiatus next Friday, November 27, for Thanksgiving Break. The newsletter will resume on Friday, December 5. We wish you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving Break!
Re-Enrollment for 2026-27 Starts December 1
If you are planning for your CURRENT student(s) to return to Maeser NEXT school year, please re-enroll them between December 1 and December 10 at 4:00 PM. You will be sent an email with instructions on December 1.
NOTE: RE-ENROLLMENT DEPOSITS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED.
If you have other child(ren) STARTING at Maeser next year, you will need to submit an application for them by January 31 to be in the lottery. They will receive priority status in the lottery. Applications are open now at maeserprep.org/admissions.

Maeser Science Fair 2025
The Science Fair is coming up on December 3! Hurry up and get started! Make sure to find a sponsor teacher and to complete all your paperwork ASAP. You can get individual help on Fridays in Mrs. Nolan’s classroom during fourth period on Advisory Fridays. If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Slade or Mrs. Nolan.
Maeser Dance Company Concert: December 8
Please come support Maeser’s new Dance Company at their first concert on Monday December 8th at 7:30pm in the school gym. The concert is free but donations are appreciated. They will be performing jazz, hip hop, and contemporary pieces including their 2nd place winning Shakespeare numbers.

MSI Sewing 8th Grade
Volunteer help in the MSI sewing class is greatly appreciated. It is a great way to get volunteer hours and a lot of fun, too! You don’t have to have an 8th grade student in the class to volunteer or be a great sewer; just be willing to help students. All help is welcome! 3D Printing
Mr. Simmons is looking for a parent willing and able to 3D print 30 small “Greek Warrior” figures to give to his students to commemorate their time reading The Iliad and The Odyssey. He has the files ready. Please contact dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org if you are willing to help with this project.
Science Fair
The Science Department is seeking donations for Science Fair prizes for our event on December 3rd as well as parents to help with set up, check in, and judging. We’d love three prizes each for the middle school and high school divisions—Amazon gift cards, science kits or games, candy, or science equipment are all welcome. Gift Cards for Christmas Teacher Appreciation
We are in need of donations of gift cards for Christmas teacher appreciation: Target, Swig, Walmart, Costco, and food. We will be doing lots of fun activities for December. Please drop off these cards at the front desk.
Spanish Speakers Needed
We’re looking for bilingual (English/Spanish) Maeser parents to help some of our Spanish-speaking parents understand school policies and procedures. Your support can make a big difference in helping everyone feel informed and included. Please email volunteer@maeserprep.org.

Sports Announcements
MS Boys Volleyball Tryouts
MS tryouts will be held December 10th and 11th 6:30-7:50am. First cut will be made after Thursday and those who make the first cut must attend the final day of tryouts, December 12th 7:00-8:45am. Sports Physicals
All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports during the 2025-2026 school year need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after March 10, 2025 will be good until July 15, 2026. Here is the link to the UHSAA form which Maeser uses for ALL athletes: UHSAA Physical Form.
2025-26 2nd Term Sports/Activities Eligibility
9th-12th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 2nd term of the 2025-2026 school year for 9th-12th graders will be based on 1st term grades. Students must have earned a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs. In addition, 10th-12th graders must be on track for graduation.
7th-8th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 2nd term of the 2025-2026 school year for 7th and 8th graders will be based on 1st term grades. Students must earn a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs.

Counseling Announcements
Sophomore CCR Sign-ups
Sophomore college and career readiness meetings (CCRs) are running through the end of the year. Parents are invited to attend with their Sophomores. FAFSA Night
Come to the PC Lab at Maeser on Wednesday December 3rd from 5:30-7PM to get help or questions answered on the FAFSA form. Counselors and FAFSA volunteers will be available to assist students and parents. There are multiple scholarships that require the FAFSA to be completed, like the Opportunity Scholarship, the Aggie Advantage, as well as a FAFSA sponsored scholarship for completing the form.

Counseling Donations Needed
The School Counseling Team needs donations of large bags of individually wrapped candy. Donations can count toward volunteer hours!
Candy Details:
- Type: An assortment, including chocolate, hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers), Tootsie Pops or Rolls, and other assorted bags. Please include some non-chocolate options as well.
- Quantity: 4–5 bags per month.

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.

Opt In For School Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.
You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
Update Your Contact Information
If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.
