Microwaves are available in the lunchroom for students who bring lunch from home. Please note: we do NOT have refrigerator facilities for student use.
Full Dress Day on Tuesday, September 2
Please remember that Tuesday, September 2nd is FULL DRESS because it is the first school day of the week. If your student is still waiting on a blazer, they will need to go to the front office and get a uniform exemption slip.
The Maeser uniform is an important part of our shared experience and contributes to the amazing learning environment we’ve developed over the years.
We appreciate your support in helping your student to wear their uniform!
Middle School Picnic Today
The 7th and 8th grade will be on a picnic to Glen Canyon Park today — Friday, August 29 — from 12:15-2:15pm. Students need to bring a lunch, have their permission slip signed and returned, and be in uniform — their PE uniform counts!
Annual & Class Fees Due Wednesday, October 1
All annual fees and class fees (first semester & full year classes) are due on Wednesday, October 1. Balances after the due date will be charged a late fee (up to $15). Second semester class fees will be charged in February.
Some of you have already paid your student’s annual fees (Winterim, Graduation, PE Uniform for 7th graders)–thank you! Now that schedules have settled down, we have also charged class fees. (Not all classes have associated fees, but some do.) You can see our fee schedule here: 2025-26 Maeser Fee Schedule & Spend Plan
If you think you may qualify for a fee waiver, please email finance@maeserprep.org for an application before Wednesday, October 1.
If you have any questions, please email finance@maeserprep.org. We are happy to help.
Lost & Found Reminder
It’s been two weeks, and our Lost and Found is overflowing! Please remind your students to check the Lost and Found area in the cafeteria regularly.
Important: Items not claimed within two weeks will be donated. Uniforms and personal items are expensive — don’t lose yours!
Thank you for helping us return belongings to their rightful owners.
Volunteer Opportunities
Protein Powder for Weight Training Classes
We’re collecting shaker bottles (anything similar to these) and protein powder to support our weightlifting students in their training. This brand has been used, but any clean protein will do as long as it doesn’t have creatine or caffeine. Donations can be dropped off at the front office. Thank you!
Faculty Birthday Cakes
We would like to celebrate the birthdays of our faculty and staff each month with a birthday cake during lunch. We are looking for a donation of a birthday cake for around 60 faculty and staff. Just bring it to the front office by 11:00 AM. For more details and to sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: Faculty Birthday Cakes. Thank you!
Teacher Appreciation Donations
The following link has a signupgenius that has a variety of items listed that are popular with the staff, but is not limited to those items only. These donations can count towards your volunteer hours. For more details and to sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: Teacher Treats. Thank you for your generosity.
Report Your Volunteer Hours
DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

Sports Announcements
Utah High School Athletics Survey
We have been asked to help gather feedback on possible updates to Utah’s high school sports calendars and time commitment policies. Your perspective is important in ensuring that any changes support student well-being, academic balance, and healthy participation in athletics.
Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts by completing the survey here: Utah High School Athletics Survey
Your input will play a valuable role in shaping policies that affect students, families, and coaches across our state. Thank you for your time and feedback.
Sports Physicals
All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports during the 2025-2026 school year need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after March 10, 2025 will be good until July 15, 2026. Here is the link to the UHSAA form which Maeser uses for ALL athletes: UHSAA Physical Form.
2025-26 1st Term Sports/Activities Eligibility
10th-12th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2025-2026 school year for 10th-12th graders will be based on 4th term grades. Students must have earned a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs. In addition, 10th-12th graders must be on track for graduation. If students fail a class during the 4th term they can make up the class through summer school or other online options (counselors have more information on other options) and the class must be made up by the first day of school in August.
8th-9th Graders
Eligibility for activities/sports during the 1st term of the 2025-2026 school year for 8th and 9th graders will be based on 4th term grades in science, math, and English. Students also cannot have any NGs in any classes. If students fail any of these classes during the 4th term they must attend summer school to make up the class or if they have any NGs in any class they will not be eligible for fall sports.
New Maeser Students
New students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades will need to provide Activities Director Jared Norris (jared.norris@maeserprep.org) with a copy of their 4th term grades from their previous school.

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:
Opt In For School Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.
