I have been teaching science for 29 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biology (with an emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology) and a Master’s degree in Chemistry. I began my teaching career at a small private school in exchange for tuition for my 4 children. I grew to love teaching a variety of classes to keep myself from getting bored. As a result, I now teach AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, CE Bio 1610 & 1615, CE BIO 1010 & 1015, CE (APT) CHEM 1010 & 1015, and Anatomy and Physiology. AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science are taught in alternate years.
I have four children, but only three have grown to adulthood. I lost a son when he was 7 years old to a rare disorder (pulmonary hypertension). This experience taught me a lot about what’s important and how to use my time wisely. My oldest son is a chemical engineer, my oldest daughter is a regional manager at a bank, and my youngest daughter is a full-time mother and university student. I am now a grandmother to 6 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Teaching keeps me young at heart and brings me joy through wonderful connections with amazing young adults. I wouldn’t choose to do anything else every day. Because of my busy schedule, living far away, and having horses, I limit my extracurricular activities, but I’m always here at school early and happy to help others when needed.
