2025-26 School Calendar
Our 2025-26 School Calendar has been approved and is posted on our website under the Parents drop-down menu. Please be aware that Orientation day for all incoming and new students is Friday, August 8. School starts for everyone on Monday, August 11 and our last day of school (graduation) will be May 22, 2026.
We realize this start date is early! By aligning our calendar closely with the Alpine School District, families with students at Maeser and at district schools are better able to coordinate their schedules.
Maeser Activities Calendar
Looking for our calendar for games, dances, and other school activities? Our Activities Calendar is also posted on our website under the Parents drop-down menu.
Maeser Updates Summer Posting Schedule
Maeser Updates will be on hiatus for the summer break from June 21-July 24. Weekly Updates posts will resume on Friday, July 25.
PowerSchool Summer Availability
The PowerSchool parent and student portal will be offline beginning Monday, June 23 to allow us to perform summer updates and maintenance, and to create student schedules for 2025-26.
The parent and student portals will reopen on Monday, July 28 with 2025-26 schedule information. Schedule change information will be given at that time.
Students in the Class of 2026 can pre-schedule an appointment with their counselor now to finalize their senior schedule — details and the link to schedule were sent to their Maeser emails this week.
If your student is new to Maeser this year, you will receive an email between July 25-27 with your parent login information for PowerSchool.
2025 Summer Reading Program
If your student would like to participate in this year’s summer reading program, you can check out all the details here: 2025 Summer Reading Program. This year’s community text is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
Parent Occupation Survey
Every year Maeser has a need for guest speakers for Classes, Winterim assistance, committee needs, and college and career wisdom from lived experience. If you would be willing to share your knowledge and experience with Maeser in some ways as a Volunteer, will you please take a moment and complete this short 5 minute survey? Parent Occupation Survey

The 2025-26 Fee Schedule & Spend Plan is now available for review and public comment. This document explains the fees that can be charged to students next school year. Foreign Exchange Students for 2025-26
If your family is interested in hosting a foreign exchange student for next school year (2025-26), please contact one of the foreign exchange agencies that we work with ASAP:
- AYUSA (Jen Ruff, jruff@ayusa.org, 801-787-7833)
- SHARE (Tonya Duncan, tduncan@erdtshare.org, 866-932-3738)
- United Studies (Megan Heward, megselise@gmail.com)
Foreign exchange students are typically 11th graders and MUST come through an exchange agency. The agencies know our requirements for foreign exchange students (such as our high English proficiency level requirement) and will submit the application to Maeser on the student’s behalf (the application is due by May 31).
If you are interested in hosting a family friend from another country to attend school at Maeser, they will need to come through a CSIET-approved foreign exchange agency (it’s a visa thing). They will also need to meet the Maeser foreign exchange student requirements (high English proficiency level, etc).
If you have questions, please contact our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org. Thanks!
Volunteer Opportunities
Counseling Donations
The School Counseling team is running low on candy! We are in need of large bags of individual sized candy. You can use this towards your volunteer hours!
Kind: an assortment- chocolate, hard candy like jolly ranchers, Hi-Chews, sour patches, whatever comes in the assorted bags is fine. We would like some non-chocolate as well.
Amount Needed: 4-5 bags/month
Maeser Advancement Committee
At Karl G. Maeser Preparatory Academy, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a meaningful difference! There are several opportunities that require small blocks of time and many that can even be done from home. From writing and gathering information to organizing events, the advancement committee has need of your help. Your unique talents and time can have a lasting impact on improving the experiences and opportunities for our students. If you would like to receive information about volunteer opportunities, please sign up here: Advancement Committee Parent Volunteer List
Share Your Story
As we work to raise funds for our new Fine Arts Center, we want to show potential donors what truly makes our school special. We are gathering real stories of how this school has shaped students’ lives. Have you seen your child grow in confidence, discover their passion, or use their talents to make a positive impact? Whether it’s a moment in the arts, athletics, academics, service, or leadership, we want to hear about it! Some ways you can share are: 1) Send us a personal experience that highlights the school’s impact, 2) If you have photos or videos that capture these moments, we’d love those too!, 3) Know an alum doing something amazing? Let us know!, and 4) Identify things the school does that make us so unique and are valuable for our students. Submit ideas to maeser.advancement@maeserprep.org or join our online forum for Maeser parents to discuss ideas and see volunteer opportunities at https://maeservolunteers.freeforums.net/.
Report Your Volunteer Hours
DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

Can We Reach You In Case Of Emergency?
It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.
Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:
Opt In For School Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.
You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
Update Your Contact Information
If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.
Thank you for helping us keep in contact with your family!
