Each grade will take the floor for class dances and friendly contests, with plenty of fun activities along the way. Students are encouraged to dress up according to their grade’s theme to help rep their class in style.
Oh — and keep your eyes peeled… the faculty has a little surprise in store you won’t want to miss!
Friday Check-out Procedures
Reminder that if your student comes to school on Friday they need to be checked out by a parent or guardian in order to leave. You can either come in and check them out or you can send an email to attendance@maeserprep.org and they can sign themselves out through the front desk.
Carpool
We kindly ask all parents and guardians to please follow the posted signs and avoid making a left turn out of the Maeser parking lot during designated carpool hours. This helps ensure a smooth and safe flow of traffic for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in keeping our students safe and parents on time for work!

Class of 2025 Lagoon Day
This year’s senior Lagoon Day is coming up on May 15th! In order for your 2025 graduate to attend Lagoon Day, they must be eligible for graduation, which also includes having no current or previous NGs. Seniors should check to make sure their name is on the list Mr. Simmons sent out this week – if not, they are not eligible to attend Lagoon.
Lagoon ticket information:
Students will need to purchase their own ticket, which they can do either online or in person. The total cost for admission is about $55, which is a significant discount. Students will take the bus to and from Lagoon. The park hours on school days are shorter, so Lagoon closes at 4pm. You can find more information here.
RISE Testing Continues This Week
Middle school students will be taking RISE tests in their math classes (Core 7 & 8 and Math I) this week, and finishing with science and 8th grade English next week.
Please make every effort to avoid scheduling appointments during state testing, to avoid the need to pull your student out of class for make-up testing.
We appreciate your help in creating a focused and productive testing environment for our students!
Make-up Testing & Parental Exclusions
Missing a test day does not excuse a student from state testing. We will be pulling students out of class for make-up testing. Please make every effort to have your student here on their scheduled testing dates so they can avoid missing class in the last critical weeks of school.
While we hope you will allow your middle school student to participate in RISE testing, we will always respect a parent’s desire to exclude their student from state testing. Though you can submit a Parental Exclusion Form at any point, submitting the form to the school at least 24 hours prior to the first day of testing helps us ensure that your student does not access the test and is not scheduled to be pulled out of class for make-up testing.
Foreign Exchange Students for 2025-26
If your family is interested in hosting a foreign exchange student for next school year (2025-26), please contact one of the foreign exchange agencies that we work with ASAP:
- AYUSA (Jen Ruff, jruff@ayusa.org, 801-787-7833)
- SHARE (Tonya Duncan, tduncan@erdtshare.org, 866-932-3738)
- United Studies (Megan Heward, megselise@gmail.com)
Foreign exchange students are typically 11th graders and MUST come through an exchange agency. The agencies know our requirements for foreign exchange students (such as our high English proficiency level requirement) and will submit the application to Maeser on the student’s behalf (the application is due by May 31).
If you are interested in hosting a family friend from another country to attend school at Maeser, they will need to come through a CSIET-approved foreign exchange agency (it’s a visa thing). They will also need to meet the Maeser foreign exchange student requirements (high English proficiency level, etc).
If you have questions, please contact our registrar at registrar@maeserprep.org. Thanks!

Share Your Story
As we work to raise funds for our new Fine Arts Center, we want to show potential donors what truly makes our school special. We are gathering real stories of how this school has shaped students’ lives. Have you seen your child grow in confidence, discover their passion, or use their talents to make a positive impact? Whether it’s a moment in the arts, athletics, academics, service, or leadership, we want to hear about it! Some ways you can share are: 1) Send us a personal experience that highlights the school’s impact, 2) If you have photos or videos that capture these moments, we’d love those too!, 3) Know an alum doing something amazing? Let us know!, and 4) Identify things the school does that make us so unique and are valuable for our students. Submit ideas to maeser.advancement@maeserprep.org or join our online forum for Maeser parents to discuss ideas and see volunteer opportunities at https://maeservolunteers.freeforums.net/.
