Share Your Story
As we work to raise funds for our new Fine Arts Center, we want to show potential donors what truly makes our school special. We are gathering real stories of how this school has shaped students’ lives. Have you seen your child grow in confidence, discover their passion, or use their talents to make a positive impact? Whether it’s a moment in the arts, athletics, academics, service, or leadership, we want to hear about it! Some ways you can share are: 1) Send us a personal experience that highlights the school’s impact, 2) If you have photos or videos that capture these moments, we’d love those too!, 3) Know an alum doing something amazing? Let us know!, and 4) Identify things the school does that make us so unique and are valuable for our students. Student Health And Risk Prevention (SHARP) Survey
Every other year, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students across Utah participate in a survey that provides information on substance abuse, risk and protective factors, texting and driving, and suicide and depression rates. This year our school is participating in the nationwide SHARP survey in their Socratic or Classical Foundations II classes during the week of February 18-20. Permission slips for this survey were sent home this week for students in these grades; please complete and return the permission slip as quickly as possible so we can plan our administration of this survey. Sweethearts Dance

Weights Class In Need of Protein Powder
With the beginning of a new semester, our weights class is back to working out and is looking for help getting protein powder. The students have the option of getting a scoop after their workout each day to aid in their recovery and build extra strength. We’d appreciate any support you can give. National Honor Society – Donations Needed
The National Honor Society will be holding an event on Friday, February 21st, right after advisory from 12 PM – 1 PM. We will be using recycled water bottles and other recycled bins to create plant friends to hand out to friends and family in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, spreading love to those around us!
We are in need of empty water bottles or other containers, as well as supplies for the activity, such as flower seeds, soil, and coffee filters (which help create a good soil foundation for the soon-to-be-growing plants). If you would like to contribute to this activity, please check out our SignUpGenius: NHS – February Activity. Donations can be dropped off any time during school hours.

Math Girls Rock!
The next meeting of Math Girls Rock! will be held on Thursday, February 27th. This program is sponsored by UVU and is open to all students (any gender, any grade level, any math level). We will be exploring math concepts using origami, games, puzzles, and other manipulatives. Students that have participated with us before do not need a new permission slip. If you are new to the program and want to join us on February 27th, please talk to Mrs. Plott (rochelle.plott@maeserprep.org) for more information and a permission slip.
USBE Parent Portal
Did you know the Utah State Board of Education has a new Parent Portal? This site was created to provide various resources to families in the public education system. Inside the Parent Portal, you can find information on accommodations, assessments and testing, school fees and waivers, parent rights, student success guides, and more. SheTech Explorer Day
SheTech Explorer Day is coming up on Tuesday, February 25 from 9am-1pm! This is a career exploration field trip that gives high school girls the opportunity to get hands-on experiences with leading tech companies and STEM experiences, as well as meeting industry mentors and role models. Explorer Day is open to all girls in grades 9-12 and will be held at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy. Registration is free and lunch is provided. This field trip is not sponsored by the school, so students who attend will need to have their parents excuse their absence from school and arrange for their own transportation. Special Luncheon and Training Available to Parents and Guardians
Maeser is joining forces with Lindon City to host a free “EverydayStrong Resilience” training on “How Can I Connect with My Child?” It is happening in the school library on Thursday, March 20th. At Karl G. Maeser Preparatory Academy, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a meaningful difference! There are several opportunities that require small blocks of time and many that can even be done from home. 3rd Term Sports Academic Eligibility
Eligibility for activities/sports during Winterim/MSI and the 3rd term will be based on 2nd term grades. Students must have earned a GPA of 2.7 with no Fs/NGs. In addition, 10th-12th graders must be on track for graduation.
Sports Physicals for 2024-25
All students, middle school and high school, who will be playing sports in 2024-25 need a physical in order to play. Physicals completed on or after March 10, 2024 are good until July 15, 2025. Any physicals completed before March 10, 2024 will not be accepted (per UHSAA policy) for the 2024-25 school year.

Sophomore CCR meetings will begin in mid to late February. More details to come.
Counseling Donations
The School Counseling team is in need of large bags of individual sized candy. You can use this towards your volunteer hours!
Kind: an assortment- chocolate, hard candy like jolly ranchers, tootsie pops or rolls, whatever comes in the assorted bags is fine. We would like some non-chocolate as well.
Amount Needed: 4-5 bags/month

It’s important to keep your contact information up to date and opt-in to receive text messages from Maeser — in case of an emergency, this is how we notify parents! In addition, we use your contact information to notify you about important school events and school fees deadlines.
Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:
Opt In For School Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.
You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
Update Your Contact Information
If any of your contact information has changed – email address, mailing address, phone number – please let us know asap so we can be sure you’re getting school and teacher communications.
