In coming weeks and months please look for opportunities to get involved and contribute. In the meantime, if you are in a position to donate, we welcome any size of contribution — scan the QR code below for a quick link to donate.

HAPPENING TODAY:

IN-PERSON Advisory Friday

Today is a special in-person Advisory Friday for students to meet with their Winterim and Middle School Intensive (MSI) teachers. All students will meet with their respective Winterim and MSI teachers during the first Advisory period, and the rest of the day will be a regular Advisory Friday. On their Lion Success Plan (LSP), high school students should select their Winterim teacher for their first period, and middle school students should select “Ure” for their first period. During this time, students will be introduced to their Winterim/MSI teacher, learn about school expectations during the Winterim period, receive additional information about their specific Winterim, as well as receive parent permission forms. If your student is unable to come to campus today, they should reach out to their Winterim/MSI teacher to get any necessary information they will be missing.

Girl’s Night Activity

Our Girls Night activity will be held at noon today — Friday, December 6th — for girls in grades 7, 8, and 12. Want to donate materials for our activity? For information and to sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: Maeser Girls Night

The Lost Boy Performances

Come see Ronald Gabriel Paolillo’s The Lost Boy playing on the Maeser Stage through December 7th. This fictionalized story follows author J.M. Barrie as he writes Peter Pan and learns to heal from the trauma of his past.

Remaining performances will take place at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM on Friday, December 6th and at the same times on Saturday, December 7th. Tickets are $12 general and $10 for students/staff. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door 30 minutes prior to the performances.

Student Materials for MSI 8th Grade Sewing

All 8th grade students will need to bring these items to the SEWING CLASS in the MSI/Winterim term.

  • 2/3 yard of fleece fabric (60 inches wide) for making 2 hats – NO MINKY
  • Three Buttons: a two-hole, a four-hole, and a shank button
  • Two 8-inch squares of print cotton fabric for a quilt square (you may bring extra fabric for more than one quilt square)

If you cannot bring an item, please talk to Mrs. Goodrich BEFORE the day of class. Extra supplies are available if necessary.

Parent Input Needed for Trustlands Grant

The Trustlands Fund is a grant given to our school from the state of Utah with the purpose of academic betterment for our students. The Trustlands Fund Committee is seeking input from parents and teachers about educational needs for Maeser students. Please use this link to answer a 3-question survey that will allow us to better assess the needs of our students and teachers. We will be sending out a separate survey for faculty. Thank you for your time! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to MaeserPrepTrustlands@gmail.com.

Volunteer Opportunities

MSI 8th Grade Sewing

Come have fun during MSI – get volunteer hours and help students learn new skills. You don’t need to be proficient, just able to follow directions and encourage learners. You don’t need to have an 8th grade student, anyone welcome. Please access the SignUp Genius link and choose dates and times. WE NEED YOU!

Maeser Advancement Committee

At Karl G. Maeser Preparatory Academy, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a meaningful difference! There are several opportunities that require small blocks of time and many that can even be done from home. From writing and gathering information to organizing events, the advancement committee has need of your help. Your unique talents and time can have a lasting impact on improving the experiences and opportunities for our students. If you would like to receive information about volunteer opportunities, please sign up here: Advancement Committee Parent Volunteer List

Mock Trial Attorney Coach

The Mock Trial Teams at Maeser are looking for practicing / retired attorneys to act as Attorney Coaches. These coaches will assist our teams with training in courtroom procedures, objections, case organization and presentation skills. This is a great way to fulfill volunteer hours! Please contact Coach Geary at douglas.geary@maeserprep.org.

Report Your Volunteer Hours

DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!
