MS Girls Night
Danni Gazaway and Maren Hamilton are the new Seniors coordinating the Girl’s Night mentorship program this year! There will be a Girl’s Night activity every month on Friday after advisory from 12 to 2. These activities are for the middle-school girls and senior girls to get to know each other. Our first activity is TODAY, Friday, September 20th from 12 to 2, in Ms. Davis’ room! We would love your help to provide some of the supplies. The links to the signup genius are included below. If you could donate, that would be much appreciated. Thank you so much! To review the available slots and sign up, please visit our SignUpGenius: MS Maeser Girl’s Night. Thank you!
School Picture Day: Monday, September 23
School Picture Day is next week! On Monday, September 23, Jostens will be on campus taking photos for the yearbook, student ID cards, and school photo packages. Please remind your students to wear their Full Dress Uniforms including blazer (HS) or cardigan (MS) with their school tie (required for school pictures) and bring their best smile!
Want to order a photo package? Click here for details about how to preview, personalize, and order digital downloads and prints shipped directly to your home: 2024 Fall School Picture Day Flyer.
Sterling Scholar
All high school seniors are invited to apply to be a Sterling Scholar. There are fourteen categories in which they can apply, but no student will be nominated for more than one category. Winners at the school level and beyond can obtain scholarships at various universities in Utah. Applications will be emailed to all seniors. Please email Mr. Kreitzer (josh.kreitzer@maeserprep.org) with questions.
Parking Permits
All students who park on campus need a parking permit. Warnings were issued this past week, and actual fines will be assessed starting on 9/23. Applications for a parking permit can be picked up in the front office. Instructions were emailed to all driving-age students two weeks ago. Questions can be directed to Mr. Simmons (dustin.simmons@maeserprep.org).
Homecoming Week: Girls Soccer + Homecoming Cookout
This Thursday, September 26, is our Girls Soccer Homecoming Game vs rival American Heritage. Varsity plays at 4pm on the Maeser field, with the JV game at 5:30pm.
At 5:15pm, join us for our Maeser Alumni Homecoming Cookout on the Maeser front steps! Come cheer on our girls’ soccer teams and stay for hot dogs, chips, and catching up with friends.
Homecoming Dance
This semi-formal dance is taking place on Saturday, September 28. The theme of the dance this year is “Return to Neverland”, with the venue for this event located at Evans Event Center. (284 W 200 N, Lindon, UT 84042) The dance is from 8-11 pm that night, with stag tickets at $20 and couple tickets being $35. Tickets can be purchased with cash or card during lunch the week leading up to the dance in Ms. Moser’s room (room 146). TICKET PRICES WILL GO UP AT THE DOOR, so buy your tickets in advance!
Student & Class Fees Due Wed, Oct 2 by 4pm
Annual fees and class fees (first semester & full year classes) are due on Wednesday, October 2 @ 4:00 PM. Balances after the due date will be charged a late fee. Second semester class fees will be charged in February.
If you would like to set up a payment plan for annual fees and class fees (except AP exams), please email finance@maeserprep.org before the due date. We do not set up payment plans for extracurricular sports and activities—these fees must be paid before your student can participate. We also do not set up payment plans for AP exams because we need to order the tests soon.
If you think you may qualify for a fee waiver, please email finance@maeserprep.org for an application before Wednesday, October 2.
If you have any questions, please email finance@maeserprep.org.
Winterim
The Winterim catalog can now be accessed on the school website: https://maeserprep.org/winterim-winterfest/.
Please note that Independent Winterim Applications are due TONIGHT, September 20th (students have been emailed the link for submissions), and Winterim requests for all other high school students will begin September 30th for seniors.
Middle School Intensive
Students in 7th and 8th grades will participate in Middle School Intensives (MSI) during the 3-week Winterim term. MSI is designed to give students a taste of what Winterim will be like, but students don’t choose their classes. A schedule will be sent out in late November/early December.
11th Grade PSAT Day: Wednesday, October 16
On Wednesday, October 16, all Maeser Juniors will be given the opportunity to take the PSAT — a pre-SAT test offered by the College Board. This is a free opportunity for our Juniors to enter the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Your Junior is already signed up to take the PSAT.
In order to create a safe and focused testing environment for our Juniors, we have set aside this day for PSAT testing only. There will be NO SCHOOL on October 16 for students who are not in 11th grade. Please make other arrangements for your students in grades 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 on that day, as we will not have space or supervision available for them on our campus.
If your sophomore or senior has signed up to take the ASVAB that day, they should report directly to the testing location given to them by the counselors.
More detailed information about PSAT day will be sent to Juniors and their parents as we get closer to the day of the test.
We encourage all Juniors to take the PSAT on October 16, both as a free opportunity to practice before taking the ACT and as an opportunity to enter a large scholarship competition. However, parents who prefer not to send their students to campus for testing can choose to opt their students out of this test by submitting a signed Parental Exclusion Form by NO LATER THAN Monday, October 14 (to give us time to excuse your student’s absence and adjust our testing room assignments). These students will be provided with information about how they can enter the National Merit Scholarship competition without taking the PSAT.
Volunteer Opportunities

Can I opt my child out of vision screening? Yes. Please contact Elise Gilbert (elise.gilbert@maeserprep.org). She will send you the necessary information to do that.

Gift Cards for Teachers
Thank you for your support this year. Your generosity with bringing in food and helping with various needs has been overwhelming. Thank you!
At this time, we are asking for gift cards to give to teachers when they want to purchase items (including food) for various class activities, and for the administration to give to teachers for a pat on the back and a token of appreciation. If you’re inclined please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up: Gift Cards for Teachers.
Report Your Volunteer Hours
DON’T FORGET! Report your volunteer hours once you’ve dropped off your donation: Report Parent Service Hours. Each $5 spent for donations counts as one hour of volunteer service!

Here’s how to make sure you’re getting all of our important announcements and information:
Opt In For School Text Messages
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts, student fees, and more. We will only use text messaging for urgent and important information.
You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of text messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.
