Re-enroll Your CURRENT Student for 2018-2019!

Deadine: Friday, 8 December 2017
Contact: registrar@maeserprep.org

Re-enrollment for 2018-19 has begun in the front office! Your student’s $50 re-enrollment deposit can be paid online but re-enrollment MUST be completed in person in the front office. Re-enrollment only takes a few minutes to check over your student’s current information and sign your “intent to re-enroll” form. The deadline for completing your student’s re-enrollment paperwork to save their spot for next year is Friday, December 8. Re-enrollment helps us determine how many seats will be made available in our lottery, which will be held after the new-student application window closes on February 1. Re-enroll your student today to reserve their spot for next year!

Does your student have a non-Maeser sibling who would like to attend Maeser next year?

Be sure to submit an enrollment application on our website before February 1, 2018 so they can be included in our 2018-19 enrollment lottery.

Questions about re-enrollment?

Contact our Registrar, Mrs. Slade, at registrar@maeserprep.org.

Poetry Out Loud Information Meeting: Wednesday, November 29

Our first Poetry Out Loud information meeting for this year will be held during lunch on Wednesday the 29th in room 147. Maeser has a great history with Poetry Out Loud, a national competition with a first place prize of $20,000. One former student made it to the state competition twice! If you love poetry, love reciting poems, come learn what Poetry Out Loud is about.

Tell Me About: Winterim & MSI

Schedule

Winterim begins on Monday, January 2nd. Classes will be in session from 9:00am-2:00pm every day. Please plan on dropping off your students no earlier than 8:30am, as there won’t be anyone here and the building will be locked, which means your student may be standing outside for a long time. Lunch is at 11:00am.

Uniforms

Students are required to wear their regular uniforms during Winterim and MSI, unless they are doing an activity that prohibits them from doing so. However, students do not need to wear their full dress uniform on Mondays.

Attendance

Winterim is a part of the Maeser curriculum and therefore attendance is taken and is required for credit. In order to receive credit for Winterim, which is a Maeser graduation requirement, students must participate and attend all classes during this time. Exemptions for vacations are not granted during this time due to the seat time required for credit. Please plan your vacations in accordance with our holiday break if at all possible.

Winterfest

Winterfest will be held on Saturday, January 20th. Students can come set up their Winterfest projects at 9:00am and Winterfest will run from 11:00am-1:00pm. All students should attend and wear Full Dress uniforms. We hope you will come to see the wonderful things our students will have accomplished!

Middle School Intensives (MSI)

All 7th and 8th graders will participate in Middle School Intensives (MSI) during the Winterim term. School will begin at 9:00am and will be excused at 2:00pm each day. Students will take a break from their normal schedule during MSI and will be enrolled in classes designed by the middle school teachers. Each student will receive a schedule in the next few weeks. A couple of field trips will be planned during MSI so permission slips for the trips will be sent home along with the schedules.

Supplies for MSI CTE Textiles/Sewing Class (8th Grade)
All 8th grade students will need to bring the following items to the Textiles Class:

  • 2/3 yard of fleece fabric (60 inches wide) for making 2 hats
  • 3 Buttons – a two hole, a four hole, and a shank button
  • 2 (8 inch squares) of print cotton fabric for a quilt square–you may bring extra fabric for more than one quilt square
  • If you cannot bring an item, please talk to Mrs. Goodrich BEFORE the day of class!

Parents: If you have a sewing machine we can use and/or you’re available to help in the class, please contact Mrs. Goodrich: marlene.goodrich@maeserprep.org. Volunteers will need a current background check.
