Announcements and Info

Student Fees Are Due!

Students whose fees are not paid by the last day of school will not be allowed to pick up their yearbooks. Remind your student that they will be responsible to pay for lost locks, lost textbooks and lost parking passes. If your student pays for a lost textbook and finds it later, they will not be issued a refund. The last day of school is very busy with students lined up to check out and get their yearbooks, so take care of your fees ASAP so you can check out after Finals on Wednesday, May 24th and skip the lines on Yearbook Day!

Summer Reading Program

For this year’s summer reading selections, the Foreign Language and the Applied Science departments selected texts for each grade. The following list of titles is for what grade you will begin in August 2017. The program is easy: Read the book chosen for the appropriate grade. Come to the Summer Reading Book Club night on 25 August 2017. Converse with Maeser faculty and others of the community about the book you read. Maybe get some door prizes. Enjoy some refreshments. It’s that easy. Read long and prosper.

8th grade: The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
9th grade: Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
10th grade: Don Quixote by Cervantes

Volunteer Needs

Need to report your volunteer hours for this year?

If you’ve completed volunteer hours for this school year but haven’t yet reported them, please visit the form on our website to report those hours: Report Parent Service Hours.

Too busy to volunteer before the end of the school year?

Did you know you can make a donation in lieu of volunteer hours? Volunteer hours can be “bought out” at $7.50 per hour (or $300 for the full 40 hours). Donations can be made at the front desk during office hours or on our RevTrak fee payment site. If you make a donation in lieu of volunteer hours, please remember to record your donation at the link above.

Utah Patriot Camp

It’s time for Utah Patriot Camp again! This is their seventh year and they now have 9 camps around the state. Utah Patriot Camp is excited to bring the message of America’s founding, the founding fathers and their belief in God, the freedoms we enjoy and how we can make sure we never lose them.

This camp is for elementary aged children. The Pleasant Grove Camp is June 5-9 from 9:30 to noon and will be held at Liahona Academy. The cost is $45 but volunteers only pay $25 per child. Most of the volunteer positions are fairly simple and volunteers are not required to be there every day. They do need teen volunteers and require that they can be there each day.

For more information, visit their website: http://www.utahpatriotcamp.com.
